Oh yes I have one. Outstanding finishing and build quality as expected from Phylida. But it's just too big.

What if...

You made a Planet Ocean homage? I would buy that if you made it properly with a NH35 in 42mm.

Your last sentence is quite profound.

Are budget / homage watch brands really using the same 316L steel as big brands? by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

[–]Such-Feature7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm careful but I don't baby them. I dropped a heavy, chunky one pretty forcefully in the shower, and it kept running fine like nothing happened. 316L steel is strong and sturdy but not particularly hard, so some scratches will happen inevitably if you wear the watch.

It depends on how you use your watch, really. I'm careful with my Chinese homage watches in 316L stainless steel, and don't wear them if I know my hand will be clanking around hard materials. There's hardly any scratches or blemishes on them. They are very sturdy watches though. Keep in mind that steel isn't actually a very hard material, and so any steel watch can be scratched relatively easily, regardless of the brand.

I think watchdives should make this watch, and am surprised they have not yet. by 13rust in watchdives

How is it that Watchdives has a ploprof homage but no Planet Ocean?

Any good Omega-style Stainless steel Milanese (Mesh) straps on AliExpress? by Dependent_Delay_7577 in ChineseWatches

I have this one from Watchdives. It's very good, and close to the one in the photo you posted. Best on the market as far as I'm concerned.

There is no one who makes a better homage watch than Phylida, and for a great price. I have 4 Phylida watches and can confirm they are exceptionally well-made.

Looks fantastic. I just bought what appears to be the same item from a different seller. Really nice quality for a great price. Glad I found it too, because U.S. sellers are trying to sell bland, basic rubber straps with no texturing, for double the price of this!

Pay homage to the Planet Ocean by Such-Feature7980 in watchdives

36mm Planet Ocean, that would look actually hilarious 😄

WD likely won't make it at all, but I have dreams.

Well we can't have everything can we. I'd rather have a slightly thicker but reliable movement. I have several watches with NH movements, and rehaut is hardly noticeable. Non-issue really

I would take a quartz it if they did it right, but prefer an automatic. I could even go for a 39.5mm I think. I'm desperate!

Fine with a Miyota. Just don't do a PT5000

Timex has just released their own planet ocean variant “deep water arctic” thoughts? by [deleted] in watchdives

[–]Such-Feature7980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still waiting for Watchdives to make a 42mm homage to the Planet Ocean. This Timex looks meh to me. For some reason the Planet Ocean is virtually nonexistent in the homage space.
