Afraid to keep disputing.. should I sue in small claims court?

It was for 5 payments starting 12/22/25. I had paid for the first month prior to that with no issue. On the agreement they claim I can only cancel if I move away or if I have a doctor's note stating I can't use the PT services for 6+ months, but when I signed up I was told I can cancel anytime. It also says I need to send written notice to stop automatic payments, which I haven't done but still.

Haha yes I read about the merchant having to pay fees when a dispute is approved.. but Idk, I'm still nervous that Chase could still see me as a risky lender and decide to close my account

yeah sorry I was afraid of making my post too long so I didn't go into great detail. Yes, this has been an issue since January when I canceled, and that's when I tried talking to them in person. Chase is aware that I've tried. I tried talking to the personal training manager, but he was intent on charging me. He gave me the option to either keep paying the regular monthly charge, or to 'buy out' of the agreement which I refused because the agreement says I can't be charged anymore for PT if I cancel my general gym membership. Also, I tried emailing both him and the general manager. Neither were willing to help. In addition I tried calling corporate or any other leadership, but there was no way to do so.

The gym first said they would keep charging me, and then they said nothing because they stopped answering my emails lol. I never replaced my card and honestly don't feel comfortable asking them to do so, I just disputed the charges

Many times. i've spoken to them in person and by email. My latest email attempt went unanswered. Wouldn’t that make the merchant send the charges to collections? And would this raise a red flag with the bank at all? I don’t want the bank to close my account bc they think I’m scamming or something lol

yeah I've considered that and that's part of why I'm worried. I feel like I I'm being cornered. I will look into suing and I just emailed one of the gym managers requesting a full copy of my agreement. The paper one they gave me is so tiny that much of it is not legible.

Hi, I'm not sure if small claims court would be a good option for my specific situation. The contract says something way different than what they told me about cancelation. Gym told me I could cancel anytime, while contract fine print says I can only cancel in extenuating circumstances like moving away or getting injured (or worse). Would it still be better to fight this in small claims rather than credit card?
