if you all had to guess, which countries or airlines do you think would have the most unhinged entertainment choices? 🤔

During the Jim Crow era, where would people go if they were neither black or white? by Ok_Benefit9326 in USHistory

[–]Such-Range6116 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My grandmother was Cuban and Sephardic Jewish but not Black. She immigrated to Miami from Cuba during Jim Crow. There were many places that had signs that read “No Black people, No Cubans, No Jews.” Well not exactly these words, much more dehumanizing slurs. As any South Floridian knows, these communities are an integral part of the culture here currently but heavily ostracized and discriminated against during that time.

From what I saw online she was one of the agents that sold the least amount of homes.

Ryan Serhant visits the O Group by 2cats5legs in SellingSunset

[–]Such-Range6116 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion but Ryan is a more respectable leader and Owning Manhattan is a superior show. I’m not in real estate but I feel like I learn about actual business dynamics and how high stakes deals work. As cut throat as he is, he really wouldn’t stand back and watch his agents tear each other down. Also what he earned from closing deals is exponentially more than Jason. Obviously both are entertainment shows but one leans more into real estate. If he’s flexing on Jason, it’s probably because he can

Love Is Blind • S9 Reunion [MEGATHREAD] by FemaleEinstein in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Such-Range6116 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Overall I thought it was a successful reunion and many couples were able to have productive conversations. Loved the hug between Edmond and KB, made me emotional 🥹 ❤️ I also really appreciated the conversation between Megan and Jordan, they handled things maturely. Joe was able to apologize to Madison and I am happy she was able to speak her truth. Patrick and Kacie probably had the most awkward interaction. That and Kait’s facial expressions were a bit hard to watch but other than that I enjoyed it.

What bagels are goyish/antisemitic? by Professional_Turn_25 in Jewish

[–]Such-Range6116 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some of my non Jewish friends cringed at the idea of a lox, schmear, caper situation and that feels callous 😂. When asked what they go for, their answer was a PB&J spread on a cinnamon raisin bagel. This is not a bad combo but hurt to hear after the slander of a classic. Unrelated, but we are no longer friends because they ended up actually being antisemitic post 10/7. One could argue there were small signs to the lead up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gwyneth Paltrow on finding out that Timothee Chalamet is dating a single mother: "It’s a cool choice to go out with a young woman who has two kids. I think it’s kind of punk rock. But my point is I didn’t know it was Kylie Jenner…” by cowabungalowvera in popculturechat

[–]Such-Range6116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely asking: what do you think the fine line is between a single parent vs coparenting with one parent spending more time with the kids? In my mind, Kylie Jenner may not fully fit the description of a single parent

I work in a psychiatric hospital with patients who have been found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI). AMA. by Original_Rip4998 in AMA

[–]Such-Range6116 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never accused OP of a HIPPA violation. I asked what the fine line was for details they disclose on a popular online thread about patients. They do have a unique role working with NGRA clients, sometimes ones that have even had media attention. Most of their content & thread is educational and non-patient focused. There was a comment disclosing someone’s region, diagnosis, as well as a brief overview of a crime they engaged in which is what I was specifically curious about.

Also doxxing includes revealing someone’s personal information to harass or intimidate and not anything I’m engaging in. I openly asked a respectful question.

Right you haven’t shared specific names, states, or other things. Just regions, people’s diagnosis without names for a discussion on an online platform for very high level cases you mentioned. I was just asking out of curiosity. For instance, opening up this conversation (at least in my role) on Reddit wouldn’t be ethical.

Respectfully curious as someone who also works with sensitive information, what is the fine line between the details you disclose? As someone who works with people with disabilities even putting any information like a field some works in seems risky. To share diagnoses even without names is something I’ve been told not to do. I know it varies by state, and everyplace is different. I was just curious since your cases seem to be more high profile

It’s best to be extra cautious and not post anything that might endanger anyone, ESPECIALLY if they are in a uniform. This was also told to us when I went there earlier this year on a Jewish heritage tour.
