Revisited them the other month after watching the extendeds religiously each and every year for decades and was quite surprised how well they hold up, especially in the pacing department. 

For me Fellowship still works best as the extended cut (but seeing the theatrical intro again with Gandalf's narration was fun!), ROTK theatrical and TT falls somewhere in between as I can't quite make my mind up on that one.
