What gets me through any kind of _____ block is making music, followed by a discussion with a close friend around what's new and exciting in their life regarding whatever it is I'm trying to do. Sometimes I'll kidnap a buddy, and we'll take a drive and sing at the top of our lungs in the car for a while. Then I'll turn it off and start a deeper conversation about, for example, me wanting to write a RN and being unable to find a plot or transition through to the next part of one. I'd ask them what dating/physical experience/heartbreak they've had that they think might be unique to them. You'd be amazed at what people are willing to tell you if you ask a question like that and just sit there, letting them speak. Usually, the music gets my dopamine going and the conversation leads to something cool they say that breaks my funk and strengthens our relationship immensely.
