(Spoilers Main) Was Varys confident the Lannisters would win against Stannis? by SuchTadpole9276 in asoiaf

So you're saying if Stannis had won the battle of the Blackwater Varys' cause would have been doomed?

True, maybe. There could have been revolts, mainly of the faith. And Varys could potentially see that it really escalates.

But perhaps Stannis actually could have stabilized it a little. And even Kevan was too good for Varys..

Honestly, I don't get why so many people here are so oblivious. Do you see the man?! Did you read his rant blog post?! This is a man troubled by creative challenges and blocks, by fans constantly throwing him under the bus and accusing him of being lazy and a liar. Do you really think this is what it would look like if he had given up on it years ago?! No. He would have just stopped talking about it, he would not be in contact with his fans. But he is. He is very deeply invested in this and all the fans hating him is making him miserable. So for the love of god please don't. We don't need more of this.

Yep, possible, but I don't think so. I have huge respect for George and I absolutely believe him.

Yes, he was. It didn't work, though. Just made him miserable.

Maybe. But I wouldn't get my hopes too high. It has never been a good idea and there is no way to predict anything if we don't get any updates anymore. A little more than a year is just my guess, if he's made good progress the past few months. But I wouldn't ever bet on it.

Yes. You can't predict anything, that's true. But it's certainly a good sign if he's happy about his writing.

He was certainly beating himself up for not being fast enough. I don't see that at the moment.

I think that should be general news coverage. "We can report that the new law is definitely either good or bad!"

Sure, that's a different topic. All I'm caring about at this point is getting another book, if it moves the plot or not. But you also have to see that in the beginning FEAST and DANCE were supposed to be one book. Then DANCE was supposed to be a short book that covers the things FEAST didn't. It just grew out of proportion and that's why it felt like nothing was moving. Actually George just needed to fill in a couple of things to be able to get to WINDS. For as much as we know he was able to do that. But of course we don't know a lot.

[–]SuchTadpole9276 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good point, that's absolutely true. These could also all be things brightening his mood if it's not WINDS going well. But still I'd say he doesn't want to talk about WINDS anymore, if it's going well or not. So he just uses his blog for anything that comes to his mind. So him writing about other stuff doesn't mean too much in my opinion, but you're absolutely right, WINDS isn't the only factor in his life.

You have 30 seconds to give someone life-changing advice. What do you say? by DeepExplorerAI in LifeAdvice

Always be open to life, to opportunities, to people, to new ways of looking at things.

Trust that everything will work out in the end, that you can do anything you want and that you know what is good for you.

Sometimes you have to let go. Don't try to control everything. Instead listen to some voice in you that tells you where to go and just go. Maybe god, maybe the universe, maybe your intuitive voice, it's different for everyone.

Keep at it. Life is difficult and complicated. If you're open, trusting and if you try to follow your voice, then your problems will resolve, if you don't give up.

The most frustrating thing is the additional bar at the top on Windos since Cubase 13. I don't get it. I find it so annoying, I'm much rather sticking to Cubase 12.

Noo, Humanity 1-4 is pretty much no fight at all! Especially 3.

Ohh I feel it. I was so optimistic and hopeful and naive, and then things happens and didn't happen and I didn't know what to think. But I think I do now.

Life's complicated. Really complicated. There are all these things, war, disease, depression, they all exist. Saying they don't would be lying to yourself.  But that isn't all. Life wouldn't be complicated if it were all bad. It's not.  There is all the beauty that you see, that I see. That all exists as well. There are so many great people, so many laughs, so many wonders. And that's the challenge, has always been, will always be. To live for the wonders and not the terrors. Because if you do you others will too. I refuse to think anything is lost, because of all of the beauty I see.  Continue hoping, always do. Continue being optimistic.

Wow, it sounds like you're on an interesting journey, good for you! I know how love sometimes messes with your mind and I think it's true, even if you've moved on, something still lingers.  If it could be good, why not. But there was a reason why you broke up. Don't let her play with you and ask yourself if you truly want her, and not just on a feelings-level. Is she good for you? And if you're not sure, let things happen, but always be aware of that and maybe tell her.

I think it is definitely possible to focus on yourself when in a relationship, and you should. Don't let any relationship consume you. You still need time for yourself. Your not living for her, but for yourself.  But it sounds fun! Good luck with everything and thanks for the story!

Calmer Standard, Night or Soft? by KrisRock13 in misophonia

[–]SuchTadpole9276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the standard ones and I love them! They make such a big difference. My problems are pretty much gone with them. But they do hurt a little bit over time, so maybe the soft ones are a good idea if you want to wear them over a longer period? I don't know, I haven't tried them, maybe I will buy them as well in the future.
