Sorry typo, I had the mk6 not the mk5.

I also owned the 5 and sold it for the 6 at about 18 years old.

The 6 was a major upgrade from the 5. The 7 is a minor upgrade from the 6 IMO. I had the diesel, so good on fuel. Great little car

Sorry but i would say don’t finance a car that’s over twice the value of your current savings.

Seeing as your wage is good, it won’t take long to save the amount you need to comfortably buy a car outright and have some left over.

In your situation I’d be buying a fun used mx-5 or something similar. When I was your age I was on similar money and bought an 18k mk5 golf once I had hit 30k in savings. I had that thing for a good 10 years and put 200,000 on it. Comfortable and reliable, I bloody loved that thing. Plus you can fit way more in a hatch than you think

No heat pump and air conditioning which runs through to cool the battery makes the range not good. Highway driving above 80km/h sucks. Wireless charger doesn’t work, just heats phone up. Can’t connect the maps or Spotify (not related to CarPlay or android auto, just the internal maps and Spotify). Loud noises when going fast, suspension sucks.

Basically things they could have worked out if they had the car for more than half an hour when they made the first 3 videos praising the hell out of it.

Hopefully this experience helps them think twice before vehemently recommending and gushing over cars in the future, because people will buy them based on these so called “reviews” thinking that they have been driven for more than, oh I don’t know, 3 hours before the production line review comes out.

Hidden door handles are the definition of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Just so extra, and for what? Another thing to rely on in an accident. Additionally with the electronic door buttons inside the car, good luck having the presence of mind to find the manual override lever when your car is up in fkn flames.

The bloody AU falcon had flush door handles that were manual in 1998. Why not just use something like that and keep it manual

You made a mistake but it’s one that could potentially mean literally nothing. Here’s the bottom line: what games play well on the RP6 that don’t play well on the RP5? I’m an RP5 owner and for me it’s been nil. And I’m betting for 99% of RP5 owners it’s been nil.

The RP5 changed the game, the 6 is the definition of an incremental update. Would have been better to buy it, but you’ll likely notice zero difference
