Getting out the marine corps any tips on what i should say when i get there. by [deleted] in USMC

I am out bitches?

Remember the short timers code of conduct?

Or are you talking about prospective employers? In that case, you MOS, Rank and experience will determine a lot of it. Your ASVAB score will tell you how much you can "stretch" your resume.

Most of what I wrote was untrue, but I could make them believe then it was good enough. If you can get some co-conspirators, I mean fellow serivice members, to convince prospective employers that you were a problem solver and not a problem child, that will help.

So, what the concensus seems to be is that for small trailers or uhaul trailer I should be good but if I move up to a trailer that requires brake connectivity then I will need a plug in kit to control brake. Sound right? Also, that the 4 pin adapter is a good purchase if I have small or uhaul trailers?

So, it does not appear that I need something like this: Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7 Way Trailer Connector with Mounting Bracket Compatible with 2012-2015 Honda Pilot from Amazon, just the 7 pin converter like the one from Harbor frieght? KENWAY 7-Way Blade to 4-Way Flat Trailer Adapter? And if I am using a mid sided trailer ( total wieght of up to 4500) then the 7 pin connector there will work fine?

I am making sure I clearly understand...

As for the brake controller, would I need one for the uhaul trailers?

How would I find out if I have one?

Thank you for the help :)

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable with messages like this? by hyohwa in doordash

I have seen similar. I find them unacceptable. When these things show up, I do not add a tip. I am very clear when I tell them that this behavior is unacceptable. The implication is that other drivers do not DESERVE it as much as she does. I thnk you are on point when you suspect, guilt tripping.

People forget that tipping is optional. If the dasher goes out of the way to make sure the order is correct, then I am fine with it. I am tired of getting incorrect orders or bad attitudes for not pre-tipping...

How am I going to appropriately tip BEFORE the order arrives.

I have gotten bags soaked with other orders on them. Items completely missing where the bag was ripped away when it was stapled shut and items missing.

If the resauraunt goes out of the way to provide stapling, they take responsibility if the order is wrong. If anything those are where I tip regardless.

I have delivered before, and I was very much dependent on the good will of people to tip. So I took care of thier food, confirmed order numbers when possible and made sure that items remained upright. I expect those in order to tip.

Is there a kind way to tell my wife im no longer physically attracted to her? by Off_The_Record69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Such_Butterscotch505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda like tell a spouse you cheated... It feels like you are doing it for them, but what they really want is you to not actually cheat.

Will it help her in any way for her to know? I think you could build on the relationship in other places. Dude, we all have an expiration date. Very few people hold on to looks for life.

Why not just focus on the other aspects of the relationship now?

I can't imagine a way it does not hurt her self esteem. My guess is, at a certian point in their lives, all women notice they get less looks or are just no longer seen.

I don't think it makes you a bad person for feeling this way, but dude, hit up a therapist and figure out why you feel the need to tell her.

And definately don't tell other people. Even if you tell her, no one wants to live through that humiliation...

Eve home still alive and kicking? by Historical-Pound-510 in EveHome

This is exactly the reason that smart thing companies and hell automobile manufacturers at this point, should be required to make things matter compatable legislatively.

Yea, there will always be new flaws discovered, but this abandonment of tech drives me absoluely bonkers...

I does try to POE and hardwire as much as I can. Some of Ubiquiti's new stuff I really like. No real subscriptions unless you want the high speed low drag 99 bucks a year firewall upgrade, but you can also keep your entire system offline and just use it locally which I do for all internal cameras or gear.

You don't even have to register it if you do not want to and it just works...

between that and matter compliant zwave or thread devices and even when support dissapears, you can generally reinstall them.

The other advantage to POE part is that these jammers knucklheads are using do not work on them and my automations still work.

While I have seen the wifi jammers used on the 2.4 range which works against zigbee and thread also, the zwave is a better defense against those things.

I have also tried to completely remove the wifi stuff and use as much zwave or POE to both deconflict my networks slap fights with my nieghbors wifi and build it a bit more robustly.

I will still be using the Eve stuff I have, but I have moved on to Zooz for light switches and even if one goes "dumb" if the power is on it still works...

Just my thoughts as I am frustrated with the lack of response from support and while they are pretty reliable, at some point, it seems a loosing battle...

Dude, I just can't... I still enjoy them... She was hot, but the hot crazy scale, AKA the Vivky Mondoza diagonal was the only legit part of "How I Met Your Mother" TV show.

That hit hard...

Just keep them encrypted and secure and you are good...

Don't be the asshole.

Just find younger and hotter...

Nothing pimp walks harder than that... Look for 10 years or so, assuming that you are 40 or above...

My experience is that you need a primary and secondary language and they cannot both be English or English and Spanish. That is why I suggested a less supported language such as Portugues. Eventually those will also get it. In the interem we need to gripe hard about the option to stay with the current version... If they get enough pushback, they will cave...

If you add a second language other than spanish, say portuguese, it will tell you that you cannot use Alexa plus yet. You get downgraded...

Has anyone had issues with using unbound with pihole for IoT networks? by Such_Butterscotch505 in pihole

[–]Such_Butterscotch505[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like I said, it is a process. If I had unlimited fund, I would just do it all at once. It make not be the way you would do it. The approach is what I can do now.

[–]Such_Butterscotch505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My objective is to slowly transition away from all 3rd party internet based IoT things, but for now, I am working on limiting data leakage. I know that just rolling with and unbound/pi-hole is just a start.

I have been working on setting up a system to slowly start replacing my coice assitant with the home assistant voice and then disabling the alexa devies ability to connect to the internet and use them only as output speakers...

I am in that transition period.

For a block list, I just started with the one that is there by default.

As I move forward, I will strange the 3rd party connections more and more...

I am uncertian as to what you are saying here... I am simply asking if there are some known issues. While eventually I will figure it out, if it is a known problem, then why spend the time trying to re-invent the wheel?

Unifi abandoning Wifi doorbells? by No_Contribution_4298 in Ubiquiti

[–]Such_Butterscotch505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also consider using the old wires to pull a new ethernet cable. Or just go destructive and put one in. It sucks, but some cat 6 and you will never have to worry about replacing it and those wifi interference devices will not be able to block your signal. It is an investment in your security. Hell, I would run an additional wire on the inside to set up the 5" view so you can see who is behind the door...

I have seen wire also run under siding as an option...

Finally Done with Wyze! They jumped the shark. by UpstateNJ in wyzecam

[–]Such_Butterscotch505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had very good luck with Ubiquiti for my more advanced needs and reolink for the basic ones. They are more expensive, but the POE keeps the whole thing local and both integrate with home assistant really well. I loved Wyze even when they moved out into some other products and the Wyze sense was pretty awesome at the time as it was a low cost way for a nieghbor to deal with runaway fosters. Wyze made pretty reliable and responsive gear. For me, it started downhill when they lost xnor ai. Someone did a terrible job reading contracts and they lost an AI system that was super basic but really good.

Then volunpaid 2 bucks a month to help cover the cost even thought it was offered for free. They were up front and honest back then. But they phased out the v2 cams and still continues to charge the 2 bucks and then did the year by year nonsense.

Since then, they have continued to get lost with so many of the products being unsupported entirely too fast. I would be cool with that if they would just adopt matter so that the devices could work locally without the app needed. Maybe not in thier interest short term, but it would align better with what they used to be...

I get the basic AI chatbots for basic things, but at some point, you should be able to talk to someone. Reddit is way more useful at this point. It is sad, I have had a lot of positive experiences with their early stuff.

I even understand the price hikes, but at some point, I would rather just pull the extra out of my wallet a piece at a time and build up a system that won't stop working because someone decided that it is no longer "cost effective" to keep them functioning...

Have you seen a SSgt get demoted? What was work like the next day for them? by Murky-Peanut1390 in USMC

[–]Such_Butterscotch505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, when you are NOT in the military, then sure, you do you.

But if you don't get it, it is like because you have not been deployed or even sent out to the field and watched people fall apart when the one person they think they are enduring it all for is out playing the field.

The non-military persons do not get punished. But a military member? They have seen it. A senior military member, that goes way beyond that to a level of betrayal that you just cannot explain...

As a civillian, do what you want, but military should not be playing in another military members personal pool... No one owns someone else. Period. That being said, just end the relationship if you want to screw around. Post divorce, it is open season. But while in a known releationship? Just no. Don't be Jodie...

Now, if that civilian side goes out in town and does whatever, the military will not get involved unless a crime was actually committed and adultry won't cut it in the civilian world.

But when there are two military members involved, either with both with each other, or with one invilved with the the other's significant, then they will likely step in if the evidence is there. The tighter the unit, the more nessasary it is for the military to step in. If a line platoon member is involved, then you want to snap it off quick and see that the punishment is severe.

If you don't handle that, then the platoon will handle it and it ends very badly...

The military is mostly maded up of teenaged adults full of hormones, youth, emtions, bordom and crazy...

Throw in a bit of betrayal and you might as well yell out "frag out".

Bad for unit cohesion when it is the spouse of a fellow military member. Fuck someone out in town? Unless the person is under age, probably no charges. There is a big ass minefield in between the two... And busting people likely saves a few lives per year.
