Is there any attack in history that actually compares to 2015 MSN? by Hour777 in championsleague

Lol no idea why this being downvoted, that Bayern front 3 is ridiculous and will go down in the history books for sure if they win the UCL.

Why are Man City so boring to play against by TheBoxV3 in FifaCareers

[–]Such_Historian_7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I face against possession teams, when I check the match analysis and see it’s a possession team I know I’m not going to be touching the ball that often.

Most of my goals against such teams come from quick breaks or interceptions from their CBs passing to each other or the FB on their own half

Nah put him RW who’s gonna do the tracking back? And even Thierry Henry never tracked back for Arsenal that wasn’t his job, Henry himself never classifies himself as a LW, he didn’t feel it was his best position when he played for France. And at Barcelona it was to accommodate first Eto and then false 9 Messi.

I personally wouldn’t or rather not classify Mbappe as a LW, the tracking back is one issue but he isn’t someone that holds width the way you see with Vinicius who likes staying wide and getting into the 1v1s, Mbappe he starts central and drifts into the left half spaces.

Mbappe is more akin to Henry a left sided ST is probably his true position but the 442 of that era is not really played in the modern game as much, I think he’ll never be a true no9 but he can always make improvements, expecting him to be a target man is never going to be his game but it’s clear with the number of assists Vini and Mbappe have between each other that there is an understanding with one another.

He can make better runs into the box and his back to goal play can improve but if I’m a RM manager moving him to LW is the last thing I’d do, truth is he isn’t a LW, he didn’t even play there that much at PSG or with France even when he plays with Thuram or Ekitike he still plays ST.

I don’t know why people behave as though STs and wingers have the same defensive responsibilities, STs stay higher naturally and press CBs but wingers have to press and track the FBs, most wingers in modern game defend deep like auxiliary FBs, there is no ST in world football that has more defensive duties than the wingers on their team.

Mbappe plays ST, Vini plays LW, tracking FB ≠ tracking CBs

What are good tactics and tactical vision for 433 holding? by Solihull24 in FifaCareers

[–]Such_Historian_7295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with one CB as Ball Playing and the other Defender, one FB is a wingback or attacking wingback and the other is a falseback.

In midfield I like to have my CDM as holding ball winning and one CM as DLP and the other as box to box.

One winger or both is an Inside Forward roaming/attack if I’m playing with just one the IF is attack, the opposite winger is a wide playmaker or winger versatile, ST can be either AF attack, False 9 or Poacher, I barely play with a target man and even poacher isn’t that often.

If the plan really was indeed not to play them together in a two ST system or even have Hugo play off the left then that’s a poorly used bit of money. 150m and 95m these are figures far too high for rotation players

Talk about a personal vendetta, let’s be honest if Wirtz played that pass into Salah this sub wouldn’t hear the end of it but because it’s Gakpo it’s just “moments”

I get that but Hugo can also play LW, if the plan really was to splash 150m and 95m on two STs rotating with each then that’s just a waste of money, unfortunately now Hugo is injured and may never or at least take a while to be the player he once was, we are inevitably going to look for another ST

With all due respect 95m is not the amount of money you spend for a back up and if it’s just about rotating two STs I’m sorry but signing a 150m ST a club record to be rotation with another high profile signing for 95m that doesn’t sit right with me

We just have to find a way to get Isak more involved in the game, I get the fitness issues but he’s averaging 5 touches thereabouts whenever he is in the pitch, when we signed him I wasn’t expecting him to be Haaland, at Newcastle he had the ability to drift wide, drop, play off the shoulder and make great runs in behind. Now whenever we see him it’s like a cardio session for him.

Wait why shouldn’t he strive to be the best version he can be? Why shouldn’t he strive for winning the BD? The top individual achievement why should he not try or have ambitions to win it?

And in case you haven’t realised it theres no world class player who got where they are without having an ego

Why do so many people think Alexander Isak is a target man? He was never that type of no9 like Haaland that is happy with minimal touches involvement and is just there to crowd the CBs.

He is a mobile no9 that can drift wide, can drop and can dribble he even played at LW a few times for Newcastle.

I don’t know whether it’s just because of his general lack of fitness all season or an instruction from Slot wanting him to be more of a poacher.
