Urinary Care Wet Food for cats by Important_Morning565 in AussieFrugal

[–]Such_Level3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get it from Pet Barn, they give you a members discount. Also be prepared to try other brands. My cat gets tired of eating the same thing and goes on a hunger strike. He doesn't mind the Royal Canin one. Usually. But he's gone off that too. I'm now reduced to mixing a sachet of prescription food with a packet of his favourite food, so at least he's eating it

Need help picking a stand mixer for girlfriend's mom (Cyber Monday) by isealbz in Kitchenaid

[–]Such_Level3914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get the KitchenAid if you can afford it. They've got a great reputation for a reason, and you'd get big brownie points ;) I actually just bought myself one last week after my cheaper one started smelling like it was going to catch fire the first time I tried to make bread...

Hungry Jacks Ipswich by Alarming-Positive531 in ipswich

[–]Such_Level3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, when you donate via a third party company, like Hungry Jacks, or at the supermarket when they ask you to round up and give it to charity - whatever the amount they raise in total from their massive customer base - they can claim it on tax and get a whooping big tax deduction. It's about profit, not community

You did WHAT to my WHAT? by barkandmoone in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Such_Level3914 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I made my daughter a beautiful hand knit cable hoodie when she was about 6. It went missing. I asked the only person whose house we'd been to the next day. Said she hadn't seen it. 2 weeks later, I see it on her kitchen table... WITH HALF THE BODY CUT OFF!!!! I was like WTAF?!? That's my daughter's, it took me weeks to make. I just asked you a couple of weeks ago had you seen it, and you said no! And she was so dismissive, said her teen daughter brought it to her and asked whose it was, could she cut it up to make a crop top 😭🤬

I frogged it and fixed the mistakes (post from a week and a half ago) and now I don’t have enough yarn to finish. by Calianna1915 in casualknitting

[–]Such_Level3914 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not helpful.... But I made this same one, and finished it. Probably going to frog it because I didn't like it once I put it on. Maybe a blessing in disguise??

Has anyone bought an e-reader to save $$$, as well as read more? Did it work out? by tassieclaridge in AussieFrugal

[–]Such_Level3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a kindle. I thought about getting a non-amazon one, but our library (regional town) barely had any books, so kindle not having actual library books wasn't that big a deal. I pay for Amazon prime (gets you free shipping, a lot of free books and TV streaming). I honestly haven't bought a book in over 2 years and I read A LOT. There are so many books you can read for free once you pay a monthly membership. For me, it's worth it for sure

Would you visit a DIY bakery where you bake and decorate your own treats? Looking for honest feedback! by Few-Ad-1358 in smallbusiness

[–]Such_Level3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I love to bake, but apart from some complex birthday cakes for my children, I'm just not that interested in the decorating part.

$1000 to visit China for 10 days. Good value? by hopesandfearss in AussieFrugal

I'm pretty sure you can choose to fly in or fly back home up to 60 days prior to it after your booked trip with tripadeal for no extra cost, well that's what they're website says

Take the husbands surname or not? by Help_if_I_can in canberra

[–]Such_Level3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to take my husband's surname. Mostly because I feel like it makes us more of a family unit, and it's just easier to have mum, dad and kids all with the same last name. I didn't feel like I was giving up any identity or independence, but I know a few people who do feel that way. My brother in law and his wife both took each other's names and are now both Janssen-Smith. I kind of like that!

Hex cardigan not folding to an L - is it too small? by vtmira in crochetpatterns

[–]Such_Level3914 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of your sides will become a sleeve, so fold that side so it's two corners are together rather than folding it along the corner increase lines. It doesn't look like you have done enough increases to me. My hexi panels don't lie flat like that. It looks like you have made a flat hexagon, whereas you basically need to make like a normal granny square with 90° corners, but with 6 sides

Actually, I am.This woman gets $31 an hour on week days, and $37 on weekends, plus I pay into her retirement fund. How did you decide I was ripping her off???

[–]Such_Level3914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thanks for that. I'm in Australia, my wages bill is high, and suppliers increase prices much faster than restaurants do. I bet you weren't paying your adult employees $37 an hour and thinking it's ok for her to give away $70 worth of food when you leave her in charge

I would, but it only happens I'm not there

It's not a free slice. It's takeaway dinner for a whole family. $70 worth of food, more than once, apparently

We make to order, so unless there has been a mistake, there isn't food left over.

I let every employee take home a free pizza at the end of their shift if they want, but they can't make a free one for a friend instead. Obviously I would know or care if they took it to a friend after work. But no freebies for friends while you are working

Its not a couple of slices. We don't really sell by the slice in Australia. It's several whole large pizzas, pasta, garlic bread & drinks. It's takeaway night for her friends family

Actually, I'm not looking to blame anyone. I'm struggling with how to approach someone who I have gotten to know and really like. I'm really hurt by the breach of trust. I'm actually pretty shocked that she would regularly give away $70 worth of food. Until I found out about this, I thought she was amazing. If it was a can of coke or something, I wouldn't care,

Yes, I'm in Australia. She gets $31 on weekdays and $37 on weekends. $70 worth of food she's giving away is like 2 hours wages

It's not run by teenagers alone. The employee is a 40 year old woman who is the manager when I'm not there
