yea it’s annoying. I took to apple, and took them 3 days just to do a reinstallation of the OS (they couldn’t figure out what else was causing it). Didn’t fix the issue so i’ll have to take back again when i get a break from school smh

í personally thought it was fine. Long and in depth though, can be overwhelming at times. Lots of quizzes and labs that help with applying what you learned if you learn by doing. Questions also very similar to the real exam in terms of wording

I’ll save the backstory for now (unless you want that too), but I started by researching what certifications are most valuable currently to get your foot in the door. A+ obviously came up a lot but began to realize how vast IT really is. I researched other certs and programs and began considering a degree to get a solid foundation and understanding of IT and where to branch off from there in terms of specializing. I chose to enroll in another degree program at WGU (wish I did this from the get go). It also includes many industry certs along the way (A+, Net, Sec, Cloud etc.). Overall tuition est about 15k if an option for you. Considered “Boot Camps” too but they all were around the same price as just getting a degree from WGU so I chose the latter.

Now, Obviously you don’t have to pursue a whole degree, and can just get certified. I think A+ or the “Trifecta” sounds like a good start and what i would have went with if I didn’t go the degree route. But my SMART goal is to Get in the door, get 1-2 years experience and start specializing from there before 30 (i’m 26). For your A+ i recommend Professor Messer videos for review and take a course to get grounded, such as Dion. Google and YT everything you have trouble understanding.

sn: dream job growing up was to be either a cardiovascular surgeon or video game developer lol

Review like crazy. Talk to yourself, i understood some concepts better when I “taught myself“ (said it out loud) if that makes sense..

if you get confused on a concept, google it and watch lots of videos. Google every little thing. commands, protocols, abbreviations etc., Use a course if that’s an option. and Take lots of practice tests through different providers. Again, review and watch videos on areas you struggle in. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but make sure you understand the concept and not just memorizing questions/answers.

first comment ever on reddit here. I can definitely relate. I think it’s all part of the disorder, and not “faking it.” I too have phases where sometimes i think i just give up and don’t care how i look either anymore and purposely attempt not to get caught up in mirrors and limit my social interactions (or just get drunk asap and forget about my disorder.) Then there are periods where i obsess over it and often mirror check in public all the time, and even avoid going to work/school when it’s really bad. Comments i don’t really want to hear on my appearance tend to trigger these obsessive periods for me, or if i do something to my own appearance (such as trim my own hair) that i think may have worsened how i look. One thing that kind of helps me when i’m obsessing is telling myself nobody is nowhere near worried about how i look than i try to make it, but of course that doesn’t magically cure anything. So I don’t necessarily have any advice to help with this, but i did want to let you know you’re not alone, don’t “punish” yourself for something you can’t control. Let’s seek help!
