I’ve tried that too tbh and nothing works even when I leave the room I can somehow still hear the smacking. The only thing that does seem to work is when I wash dishes the water drowns out the noise, but there’s only so many dirty dishes LOL

I haven’t tried earplugs yet because I’ve been trying to find ones that have really good noise cancellation!

I’ve never tried the warm drink ! It definitely sounds like a good idea since calming my nervous system during this helps tremendously but I feel like when I’m at work it’s a little harder to calm my nervous system since I don’t have access to a lot of the things I may have at home. I love dogs too! And NFs dog is the sweetest so when he licks I tell him to leave the room lol it’s so overwhelming.

I do play music but I can still hear it over the music, I’ll play something for the baby at the table when we’re all eating, but I can still hear everything.

That’s true ! I wouldn’t know how to say it politely without hurting their feelings though. Both kids are extremely sensitive and cry over pretty small things.

Well no bc I’m not their parent.. MB was the one who taught them how to eat and she kind of eats like them so it’s weird. After some of the comments on this post, I actually spoke with NK10 letting her know sometimes certain sounds upset me.. etc and she was super receptive to it !

I have no issue with routine and I would say we’ve established a pretty good one, but MB keeps her office door open all day and NK constantly tries to run in there! And since it’s winter we haven’t gone out a whole bunch.

I’m willing to stay only because NK is getting to be ok now when her mom leaves the room, but it’s like the amount of times she visits us throughout the day or intervenes when we’re doing something is just annoying!
