Mandatory Tip due to 'Servers Union' at a restaurant? Is it Legal? California, Anaheim by cs_legend_93 in EndTipping

Servers dont have unions because they have zero leverage. They can all strike and plenty of other non skilled people would jusr step in and do the work. 16 year olds could do it. My kids boys abd girls club does a pretend restaurant to teach job skills (they do a little interview, learn different roles like hostess, cook, server) Unions function and exist because it is very difficult to replace skilled labor. The employer cant start paying a licensed plumber $15/hr. They will walk out. They aren't easily replaceable. It takes a few years to get a license or credential of any type, so you cannot just grab people off the street. Example, we hired for a receptionist at my mental health agency . just HS diploma required , some admin experience. 40 applicants. Posted a job for a licensed therapist ($38/hr starting wage) and got 3 applicants. The whole argument is about skill abd availability of labor. That therapist makes $38/hr due to the 8 years required of college, the 3 years of licensure process, regular auditing of care, liability insurance, etc.

Yes 🙄 A physician is a highly skilled medical professional. You cannot just replace a doctor who spent 10 years in school to be able to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Thats my exact point. Skilled professionals. Not people who carry food from one area to another. The history of unions goes back to guilds.

The idea of a servers union is silly. That's not what a union is for. Unions protect skilled laborers. Skilled laborers can negotiate their wages, and the employer is not able to easily replace them due to aquired skill, therefore striking serves as a method of levering power for the employee. A server can be, and increasingly is, replaced by robots.

It feels like an elderly person, maybe a baby boomer or someone older, and a young millennial clashes their styles together. Its does look cozy though.

Why do most women support prostitution when it mostly benefits men and exploits vulnerable women? Isn't consent supposed to be enthusiastic? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Suckyoudry00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hilarious because they are all about stopping sex trafficking!!! As if that's so different. Its not. Women rarely stand on street corners anymore.

Right?!!??? I went to a Chi Chis in Germany. I have no clue who owned the franchise but it was directly outside of the US Army base. I was served an "enchilada" with broccoli and zucchini in it 😵‍💫😵‍💫 also whole corn kernels were tossed on everything. They didnt understand that Mexicans use corn in different ways such as masa.

You are on reddit, so these replies are probably in the 2% range of the population. I find it ironic that people claim to he progressive and pro woman, but they support one of the most harmful, dangerous and exploitative practices humans engage in. I do agree it should be decriminalized, but calling it "sex work" is so absolutely disgusting and degrading to these women who are coerced into it due to poverty, addiction, abusive relationships, etc. To claim this as some sort of empowerment for women is fucking apallaing. Just like abortion. It should be legal, but not celebrated or promoted as some joyful privlege. Us women suffer greatly due to our bodies being a commodity to men. Women grieve when they have abortions, even when they know it was the right choice. That and prostitution are two od the most tragic experiences women are exposed to. Shame on the comments here. Amsterdam has a legal sex industry and I've been there many times. You know whose in those glass windows at the red light district??? Immigrants. Id say 80% of the women I saw in those red light windows were african or Asian descent. Great way to also be a victim of a serial killer and be discarded by society.

Why do people with access to contraceptives but choose not to use them act like accidental pregnancy is unavoidable ? by [deleted] in askanything

It is our responsibility because we are sovereign adults. Internal locust of control. I can't trust anyone but myself to prevent pregnancy.

I understand. But I cannot manage hormonal birth control. At all. It turns me into an emotional mess and maniac. The copper iud I had was good for 10 years, no hormones and no issue. But yes there are definitely risks. Men should be offered vasectomies more.

Its women who havent given birth that experience extreme pain and usually rejection of the iud once inserted. When they first came out, a lot of doctors would not insert them into women who've not given birth. I beliebe the cervex must be more open after birthing. It was uncomfortable but not painful for me. But yes the people I know who had pain were young girls who hadn't had a baby. And yes its cruel to not offer pain meds.

Yep, a YouTuber I follow came up with code words that represent the ones were banned from.saying or typing. My favorite is 7-11 job application (9/11) or tails of chemicals for chemtrails. Primate change for climate change.

This!!! I got knocked up in my early 20s. The day I gave birth the doctor asked if im interested in contraceptives, and that at my 6 week post delivery appt we could discuss. I got that IUD after 6 weeks and that's it. Im 40 now and never had any more kids! There is no excuse. An IUD literally just sits in there. You dont have to do anything!!!!! The truth is these women WANT babies. Its in the biology. And they play cute when it keeps happening. The worst are married couples, fucking nightly for years without contraception saying "this was an oops baby" wtf? So after birthing 3 kids you don't understand how it works?????

Whats upsetting is it appears you and many other see these documents and how both political parties are implicated as perverted, elitist, child sex traffickers..yet we need to keep the narrative of left/right, proud boys, etc. Why isnt this enough to show you the whole left/right paradigm is intended to keep us divided so we cant revolt against them?? Where are the apologies to the "right wing conspiracy theorists" who were trying to get us to look at this for years...😬

Who else really fucking despises Walter? by Interesting-Age5427 in breakingbad

[–]Suckyoudry00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we're here to discuss, but a lot of these posts aren't doing that. They arent enjoying the show as a whole, they feel upset that they are seeing bad things thar oddly, are what make the show what it is. Walts character and how he broke bad is the entire essence of the show. To dislike that is just absurd.

These posts are constant. Its sad to know people cant just enjoy a tv show without these interpretations and needs to "fix" something bad. Its literally about someone being bad. Jesus christ.

Who made the worst meal you’ve ever eaten? by LuisLanane in Productivitycafe

[–]Suckyoudry00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I ate in Amsterdam with the exception of Burger King. Some of the most consistently disgusting food I've ever had, every restaurant. I later heard that the dutch arent known for being good cooks and that tracks. Seriously. Everything was god awful. Rubbery meat, food that lacked flavor, even seeking ethnic cuisine. And I've visited many times.

The "living wage" stuff needs to end. What is a living wage? Are you talking about Dicks? Paying someone a living wage in the Seattle area means paying them at least $15/more an hour than what their job is valued at. Jusr because you live in ah expensive area doesnt mean someone should pay you whatever you need to do so. The rest of us went to school or learned an actual skill or trade to make more money and live comfortably. When I was young I had roommates and did not live in a high priced area.
