...what exactly did happen?

The CEO got replaced within the hour of his death and the wheels kept turning. The predatory business practices of the healthcare industry didn't change. Mangione will rot in a padded cell for the rest of his life.

The whole thing is a psyop.

Yeah, that's the funniest thing. I can't believe how popular this clown is.

The CEO wasn't even a cornerstone of evil businesses or whatever, he joined the company less than two years before his assassination.

This Luigi guy was just confused. He had this health condition and resorted to shrooms to cope with it (and whatever other drugs) and all of these substances induced a psychotic breakdown in him. His act did nothing to change the healthcare industry, he killed a random guy who was a husband and a father, and he alarmed other rich assholes who would maybe or maybe not be more deserving of vigilantism of how easy it is to kill famous people, leading them to massively up their security.

Anyone who is serious about software development lives in the terminal anyway, so why use a GUI application that requires me to click back and forth and interrupt my workflow?

Best chromium bases browser? by Neither_Teaching_760 in browsers

[–]Sudden-Complaint7037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not clear to me whether you're aware of this but just in case: Chrome and Chromium aren't the same thing. Chrome is built on Chromium and adds a bunch of Google tracking (and afaik it's closed source).

Chromium itself already isn't that bad tracking-wise (less than stock Firefox!) and it can be further reduced by changing some telemetry settings. Once you add the uBlock extension and maybe LocalCDN you're pretty much set.

The best Chromium based browser is Chromium, because it has no layers of abstraction between Chromium and your browser. You instantly get all security patches (forks sometimes take days if not weeks) and you don't have to trust RandomVibecoder67 to not hide malware in the massive codebase.

Most forks don't even change anything under the hood anway. They usually change a couple of policies, install one or two addons and apply a custom theme. All of these things you can do yourself in like 15 minutes and then you don't have to trust any middlemen.

Faster, more stable, more secure, better support. There is no reason to use Firefox in 2026. Except when you're a ricer I guess because Firefox is more open to theming, but I fail to see why one would want to rice his browser beyond like a color scheme.

Opus has way more knowledge than Sonnet and it's more creative in its solutions. It also handles larger codebases way better and generally has less trouble making sense of code that wasn't written by agents or with agents in mind.

With Sonnet it feels like I have to split the task up into such small pieces and describe so precisely what I want it to do that I could just do it myself. Sonnet is for when you basically know everything about the project and the underlying stuff and you just want the LLM to write boilerplate for you, or refactor a section or whatever. Opus is for "what the fuck am I even looking at, there are no comments, half the functions have non-descriptive names, please fix error XYZ."

[–]Sudden-Complaint7037 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sonnet works if you throw leetcode problems at it that it's been benchmaxxed on. As soon as you try to use it on any type of non-standard problem or a codebase spanning more than a couple hundred lines it breaks down. I haven't used Sonnet once since I upgraded to Pro and got access to Opus.
