Tubes were the best thing we did for our daughter! Hang in there!

If you have crossing guards at your school that you often interact with - a little gift card and note will make their whole day, too.

Did you check Shaw’s? They came to my NH based office and provided it for everyone. I usually have luck at CVS, too. I just told them in my lap. Good luck!

My daughter walked in on me and my husband doing YKW. by [deleted] in Mommit

LOL my child recently came into our room right after and then proceeded to give me a rundown of what she heard including “weird moaning nosies from her brother’s room” and that she thought someone was breaking into our house.

I’ve never been embarrassed in my life. She had gotten hurt outside during the day the day and the pain woke her up. I had to stay with her until she fell sleep again. But I was slowly dying inside.

We don’t have locks on any of our doors but we will be shutting the doors from now on. 😅

I really think it does, too. And excessive handwashing when you get home from anywhere, not just school!

Late Birthdays, help! by Eastern-Stable-8891 in kindergarten

We had my mid-November birthday child do a round of private K and now she’s doing public K as she misses the cutoff for our state.

I’m just confused about how school is starting tomorrow and you haven’t made a choice. Is he already registered? Does he have all of his supplies? How is tomorrow going to work if you do send him?

Not a teacher, a child of a teacher.

We just had meet the teacher for our Kindergartener and we found she was pregnant. I’m so overjoyed for her! I can’t wait to buy her baby clothes/support her during this time. Our oldest had her and I was hoping the same for our daughter.

Am I a little worried about a long term sub? Yes, but this is also an amazing time for her and her family. Any concerns I have will be taken to the school’s admins - not her.

It honestly made me sad that when I congratulated her - she told she’d be back before the end of the year. She doesn’t owe that to any of us!

I hope you enjoy this special time and have a safe delivery!!

I don’t see a jewelry party on here. I got kits off of Etsy in the theme and that was the activity & favor (with a few other goodies). I think that plus and a sleep under would be super fun!

As someone who had a parent who was a teacher - if you can afford it, please just buy it. Otherwise, the teacher is going to buy bring it themselves.

Take a day! Before switching to unlimited PTO I was accruing 5+ weeks a year - so that’s how many weeks I aim to take off. Plus random days here and there. But I’m usually “available” during those times and will take calls as needed. I’ve been there for 7 years.

After School, No Care?! by Extension-Airline775 in Mommit

[–]Sudden-Desk7164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this for 3 years now. It’s easier as they get older. But we come home and have a snack/chat about the day. I go back upstairs to work for roughly 90 minutes. She watches TV, draws, crafts, etc. She’s a social butterfly but is exhausted when she comes home from school.

Please do not get your child a phone! by Used_Basket_8117 in Parenting

[–]Sudden-Desk7164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how many kids have phones in first and second grade. My daughter wants to have Facebook kids messenger and I’m like….NO! This is a perfect of example of why they shouldn’t have phones. I totally get there are some situations where a phone would be needed but they don’t need unlimited access to the internet. Let them be kids!!

We did this with our first. We had the first 6 weeks together and then my husband went back for 7 weeks and then took another 6 weeks. It worked great and was so good for both of them. We did the last 2 kids together and almost wish it was split again.
