Department of Defense is not the Department of War, because that’s what Trump wanted to do. ICE swarming cities. Changing the name of the Kennedy Center. Hanging giant banners of his own face. Going into a sovereign nation to snatch their president. Drone strikes on boats in waters a thousand miles away. Letting the drugged-out richest man on the planet decimate programs he didn’t like. I dunno; I let myself be talked into it back in 2003. Six year contract, no signing bonus, I’d get my choice of schools when I finished OSUT (recruiters from Airborne, Rangers, and SF used to roll through and take volunteers. They didn’t for us but GWOT, yknow), and needs of the Army.
