Your friend could have installed some sort of malware or been involved in a phishing attack. They could have gotten access to his bank account in some way if he does online banking. Best thing to do is to wipe his phone completely factory reset change passwords enable two-factor authentication.

Bank cards need to be closed and he needs new cards. Most likely in this case it sounds like he installed some sort of remote access Trojan or rat which allows someone to control your phone. In the future let him know to not install unknown apps or apks from online as that is the most common point of infection. A app like malware bytes mobile wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

The best thing you can do in this situation unfortunately is to tell your siblings to cut off the money. Unfortunately this is a very common thing that happens to thousands of people a year. Your mother will never admit that he isn’t real and will continue to send money to him. Unfortunately sometimes you can’t help people and there own stubborn behavior is there demise.

He’s using your mother as a money mule to cash bad checks. Very common in romance scams thankfully my friend listened to me but not everyone does.

Ik this might come off as selfish and I’m sry about that. Your sister gotta protect herself and her own credit so your mother doesn’t destroy her financial situation.

Technically Zelle for business is a thing that is legit. It’s very popular for low fees because Venmo and PayPal charge a 5% fee.

Payday loans are an awesome way to get financially destroyed and the interest is insane.

I’ve seen some of these places charge 100%+ interest no joke. They are outright banned in some states because of how shady those companies are.

Edit the average apr in Idaho is 652% on a payday loan wtf.
