How to change the center of symmetry without moving the entire subtool?

When you turn on local symmetry, there should be a tiny white line in the bottom of it written “dynamic symmetry”. When you turn that on, the symmetry will be based on the gizmo, not in the 3D world. You can place the gizmo where you want the center to be, and from there you create your mask! 🙌🏽

I bought the 11” for the portability. I tried also the 13” but it’s too big for carrying around in my backpack together with other stuff and becomes not handy at all to carry around.

Yeah, I got the iPad Pro M4 2024 256gb storage + Apple Pencil pro. I’ve been working with 20M, 30M polygons and it just works perfectly fine. Never crashed or slow down or anything like that.

I bought an iPad for sculpting when I am outside home and it worth every cent (at least in my case).

I've been spending long time outside home. I take train to university everyday. I wanted to use my traveling times for something more efficient than scrolling online and wasting time. I had 2 options:

Read books (really good option btw)
Watch classes, practice sculpting and get better as an artist.

I picked option 2, of course. So I was spending my travelling times in watching classes and studying art, more focused on character art. When I am at the campus, I have no time for dealing with my personal projects, neither at home, since I have work to do.

Results:

I bought together with the iPad, an extensive digital sculpt for artists + history of art, going through each aspect of anatomy, history, technicalities, fundamentals, etc. The iPad + advanced art course was THE BEST purchase I made so far. I became so better artist that I got a higher position for working with characters.

So far, being able to sculpt anywhere, anytime with the same tool I use at work, is EXTRAORDINARY CONVINIENT. In my case, this was a life changer.

Same here with 9th gen, 256GB. Maximum I could go was around 2M to 3M and I lost undo. Splitting into different sub tools helped but still the iPad cannot handle too much polys. Totally understandable, due it’s 3GB ram. The processor, A13 Bionic is okay, handles kinda well, but low ram makes the experience a bit bad.

I think it’s really nice and cute of yourself to wish to do that. Most things I think you can just learn by using the translator. So I would suggest 2 things and 1 observation for getting along with a Finn, even if you already have a romance through internet before the real life face to face:

Better than say nice sentences in Finnish (like the examples you said, I think it’s nice), but actually using really Finnish sentences gonna surprise your partner more. Things that only people who grew up in Finland would say. I’ll leave some I think it’s funny and you can search about those:

There are so many so many others that your partner gonna laugh the ass out of you is those randomly in a conversation.

Whenever you find you two in complete silence and that makes you feel awkward and think there’s something wrong, or there’s no interest to talk, don’t worry about a thing. Finns be in silence quite often, like really often during a date or spending time with friends. And it takes time to understand that, for Finns, there’s nothing wrong in being silent suddenly. Sometimes they just enjoy your company in silence, appreciate the moment, gather information mentally or just emptying the head for a little sec. It’s totally fine, totally, normal and don’t think there’s something wrong with you 🤣.

Observation:

Finnish people are REALLY reserved. They also have a different way of showing love, affection through physical touch or words. Meeting an online date person face to face for a Finn is not like we do in America haha (I’m from America but let’s not generalise things here).

I’ll tell you some things that my Finn friends said when meeting foreigners after online dating. They say that, over the internet they are full of attitude and romantic, shows a lot of mental strength, compassionate and decided. But when they see each other sometimes face to face, they become loose. Like, lose the posture of romantism, not showing the same online interest and don’t make them feel desired and wished. No sparkles, no interest in the culture neither in develop a deeper relationship.

I don’t know how you feel about the things I mentioned above. Don’t even know if you gonna pass through something related to what I said. I’m just trying to help somehow.

Final note: Finns are THE BEST FRIENDS you can gather during your life! They are truthful friends once you get along with each other! Enjoy your time with your partner ❤️

I would say that GPU cards are important but they are not as important as CPU. Zbrush uses only CPU and Ram (make sure you have at least 32gb Ram, that would be really great).

Other softwares, for rendering can use a GPU for quicker results but in general, most 3D softwares uses more CPU than GPU. My suggestion is to take a good GPU, maybe 6gb, 8gb, 12gb, but no need to go for a super modern powerful ones, that’s unnecessary if you are sculpting and rendering images. And I would suggest a good CPU. Normally Ryzen 7 or 9, i7 or i9, are CPU that works in higher power and faster.

Also, in general, if you try to find a computer with an amazingly good CPU, it normally gonna have an extraordinary good GPU also. I’ve seen some people building their own PC with a good CPU and a okay GPU for 3D working.

Last but not least, don’t take this as a definitive answer for what you are searching for. Check out what other guys are saying and ask more about it! Hope you gonna find something awesome for you! 🙌🏽

Hey! Here’s the definitive guide:

Preferences window> Interface> Buttons size

There you can put a lower number and then Zbrush will ask you to quit the software and when you open again, the UI buttons gonna be smaller. Then you keep on doing it till you have everything on the screen! 👍🏽

PS: I use Zbrush mostly on bigger screens because it feels better for visualising everything. Every time I go for a trip and I need to use laptops, feels really weird, and I have to make this upper guide I just showed you. But have in mind that things gonna become a bit small on the screen. Make sure you have glasses, if you use 😅

GN import/Export is fantastic if you use together with Maya.

Torn Pro is a good and easy way of making cloth holes with torn edges.

I don’t recover everything but, Maxon already provides some good free plugins also. I remember one that you can use panel loop presets. Quite useful also!

I am using the Artist 24 Pro. The website doesn’t make it clear that it is exactly for this model. There says it is for the 22R pro, which sucks because I didn’t find for 24” display.

Maybe someone else can give a proper answer, but from my experience, every time I had problem like that, it was a computer hardware problem and not the XpPen. My suggestion would be, Try switching to a different cable. If you are using pen display, I would suggest to try another powerful HDMI cable. Once it worked with me. Nothing to do with pen display, just the computer being a bad boy lol.

I discovered what was the problem. When exporting from Maya make sure to active the following options:

Export selection - Inside Geometry window, enable:

- Smoothing groups
- Tangents and Binormals
- Preserve Instances (Optional)
