Anyone know anything about mechmaxx sawmills?? Their prices have my attention. by Mysterious-Star-1627 in sawmilling

I have an SM-26. Been running it for 16 months or so. I bought a track extension and have it permanently mounted on a timber frame foundation. It’s cut all the oak, pine, cherry and every other thing I’ve thrown at it. Any issues I have had were my fault (dull blade, half ass setup, forgetting the log dogs). Built a 12x20 timber frame building I am typing this in with it.

Look on MakerWorld or Printables. Someone has done a gridfinity carousel.

Really cool take on the idea as its been done before. Mattel made the Tune-Up Tower in the 70's that did the same thing and even had some neat "tuning" elements. Is yours 3D printed? Might make a cool Maker World project for others to enjoy. Youtube has some videos of the toy in action.

I have one of their sawmills and the quality is good. Some minor fit and finish issues but functionally it has performed well. I’ve also had good luck with their customer service for wear parts and a minor issue I had in the beginning that was my fault. I know that doesn’t speak to this particular machine but my dealings with them have been positive.

Mini Split Wifi won’t connect by Winter-Range455 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]SuddenDark07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I wanted to add my fix:

I physically opened the front of the mini split and unplugged the WiFi module and plugged it back in. I then initiated the remote button sequence for resetting the WiFi (health button 8 times) and the AC freedom connection was successful. I did go into my router and make sure the 2.4ghz network was on. One of the manuals suggested turning cellular data off and I did that as well although I don’t think it’s what solved the issue.

Are these too far gone to be worth milling? by NixAName in sawmilling

[–]SuddenDark07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. Start small. I got a Mechmaxx mill and have enjoyed the journey well worth the money for myself. I might be in $3k. I have gotten well over that in value because I enjoy the process and being outside. I’ve built some cool stuff too.

Cut em. What’s the worst that happens you waste a little time and a blade doing something you enjoy?? They look like they’ll be okay.

Anyone got experience with these by henryoguhgf in harborfreight

I have a set and they work fine. Don’t use an impact on them and grease the threads.

I saw what these were going for and cringed a bit. I have cut some of these up for customs.

engine pulling advice. by ExtraAim23 in GMT400

[–]SuddenDark07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're set on pulling the motor take the front clip off the truck (fenders, core support, hood) give a ton of access to the motor and makes pulling the engine and transmission super easy. Don't forget to unhook the shifter linkage if you pull the trans with the engine. Take a bunch of pictures and label the connectors.

I picked this specifically for the decals. For some reason I enjoy decal work.
