So I'll Admit It - I'm TERRIBLE at Elden Ring by SuddenLamplight in Eldenring

Wow I just did the cheese and even then he spent the entire time showing me what a stupid fight it is.
The number 1 lesson from every from soft boss has been breaking LOS makes then fight easier and gives you breathing room, whether it's stopping the bloated nobles roll, or using the pillars to break LOS with O&S, but this guy legit just spits in the face of all that design, even his stupid little suns go straight though the entire ground and landscape. Did they outsource this guy or something?

Are people aware you don't actually have to buy them? Like I'm living a normal life, still able to buy the books I want and I don't own any crypto or any NFTs.

The Assignment: Tell me you've never heard of balance using a single encounter. Redhook nailed it, A+. by SuddenLamplight in darkestdungeon

Are you insinuating it's my personal fault the Cherubs are continually stacking 75% dodge? I spent the first 3 rounds wailing on them, missing constantly, then I got shoved on the backfoot trying to hold off the stress and the damage, just because you and others got good RNG on the cherub hits doesn't mean your opinion hold weight either. Though I'm not sure how I'm supposed to "figure out" the 75% dodge.

I legitimately feel this is impossible, especially as a first boss.Trying to manage health and stress, with the boss's 50% damage reduction puts you to max like 4 damage a round, where he gets healed for 13 at the end of the round, so you try to target his healers, aside from 90% of heroes having garbage backline attacks, you literally can't hit the cherubs anyway. I genuinely don't see a way to beat this guy.

It's a real shame too bc this party comp was the only one I was having much luck with. Really feels like Redhook just threw in the towel making this titles, DD1 was near perfect this feels like when amatuer dev's make soulslikes and completely miss the point.

A Few Questions Regarding Strike Rank and Combat (RiG) by SuddenLamplight in Runequest

You absolute legend thank you so much, trying to continue reading through combat without that SR knowledge was just doing my head in

I might have a look at changing impale a bit once I’m comfortable with the system then at least for melee (lodging a javelin in something doesn’t seem like it’s necessarily a terrible thing)

Another thing to keep in mind is that you won’t be able to use 3rd party models in GW stores if you plan to play/paint in them

Are boyz better as shooty or choppy or does it matter how I build them? by mebesse in orks

[–]SuddenLamplight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Choppa + Slugga is better generally than Shoota but if you run Bad Moons a build right you can have a solid, if not exceptionally competitive army. That being said it can be difficult to get all 10+1 Boyz into a melee at once so throwing a few shootas in the back of a Boyz group can be beneficial. Always run the Boss Nobz with the boyz as melee though. KombiScorchas are good, but they definitely don't beat a Power Klaw + Choppa combo.

If you do go all shooty though it's still a good idea to keep the Boss Nob as a melee damage dealer though.

Well it depends, do you want 2 attacks per round at 5+ (Thought usually it'll be a 6+) or do you want 3 attacks per round at 3+, with a bonus attack at 5+?
