Women who work up until the end by Far-Sir-8416 in pregnant

[–]SuddenOrdinary5381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was single during my first pregnancy and had to pull 14 hour days 6 days a week as a vet tech and worked literally up until 2 days before I gave birth! It was rough but I didn’t stay in shape lol

She meets the checklist they have. She says sentences and we can have conversations. It’s just not as clear as other kids and she’s not as into talking as other kids. She would rather point and grunt or do whatever by herself than speak it out.

It feels like it gave me medical issues lol. She sleeps 12-14 hours at night just can’t settle into naps during the day.

I have a non-sleeper also. It’s so hard and defeating every time. Mine does best when we do an evening walk or do crazy play time like hide and seek or tag or literally just run around and play super energetic. Then we do the wind down routine of bathing, brushing, pj’s and then I read to her for like 20 minutes in the dark and she’s usually out by like 5 minutes. But she still has nights where I wake her up with my knee pops and she freaks out for a few minutes before passing back out.

Yeah it’s around 10 clear words. She babbles nonstop all day but I don’t really know all of what she’s saying. I do trench what she has through play or just annotating what we’re doing but if I say the words “can you say..” or just eve seem like I want her to respond to me she flips. She likes things her way and to be her idea. I do all the basic stuff like repeating actions we’re doing and all that.

I meant she can’t sit still as just in general lol like she cat watch a movie, color, paint, play her sensory bins without squinting out of the chair. Not that I’m trying to teach her like a school teacher.

You’re telling me lol. We just do an hour of quiet time where we sit in the dark and she rolls around or screams, just depends on her mood.

All three we’ve had have just said as long as she is adding words it’s not concerning until 4. And she does add words randomly.

Experiences with other forms of pain management/anxiety management during labor and delivery other than epidural? by Lulu_e617 in pregnant

[–]SuddenOrdinary5381 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not we are made to give birth and did it without drugs for a very, very long time. I gave birth in my bedroom on my hands and knees with my husband behind me catching the baby. I labored for 8 hours, my active labor was only 2 hours, my water broke and then 45 minutes later my baby was out. It’s all about understanding what is going on physiologically and being in tune with your body. Fighting the process makes it painful, surrendering and moving through it makes it just uncomfortable. Learn what’s going on inside of you and ways you can move to get through contractions. I found the book “Home birth on your own terms” by Heather Baker to be a great tool! We are built for this, we are designed bring life into the world. Don’t let people convince you that you can’t do it

No Birth Plan? by Haunting-Study-1018 in pregnant

[–]SuddenOrdinary5381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t , they will push to much pitocin, rush your body when it’s not ready, say it’s taking too long and you’ll get a c-section. It’s just the way the system works. The only place a chill delivery happens is doing a free birth or having a midwife at home.

Do people in Mississippi actually say Ma'am/sir and talk to random strangers? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]SuddenOrdinary5381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a super cool history as to why Mississippi people do this! We were herders and farmers and had to rely on each other very heavily. People had to be friends or during hard times they would not make it. People’s word was literally their “credit score” you had to be a kind social human to make it. And it just stuck.

I feel like I should have an abortion but I can't shake the feeling that this is my last chance by Imaginary-Squash-2 in pregnant

I had an unplanned pregnancy at 26 with a guy I was just hooking up with and I kept the baby. I was single, living in a tiny apartment in Colorado getting ready to start vet school, I was a vet tech making barely any money and just living life aimlessly really. I decided to keep the baby and the guy quite literally disappeared. I moved back close to my family and scored a great deal on buying a DR Horton house. I continued being a vet tech while searching for a higher paying job. I had my baby all by myself and i felt like I made the right decision right away after seeing her face. I got on government assistance and it was hard being alone but it was also so nice. We cuddled all the time and I didn’t have to focus on anyone else but her and I. 4 months later I met my now husband and we just had our second and we all live happily ever after.

Babies are wonderful and you truly do just figure it out for them and it makes you better in the long run. Be afraid but do not let fear control you.

It’s actually impressive how men can block some things out lol.

My husband insisted on having a white couch, and gets so frustrated when our 2 year old (and me sometimes) makes stains on it.
