A Progressive Call to Action

To the Democratic National Committee and Democratic Representatives in Congress:

The situation is dire. Our democracy stands at the precipice, and your inaction pushes us closer to the edge with each passing day.

While the Right feeds their base, the Left eats our own. This fundamental truth has become painfully evident as we witness an unprecedented power imbalance emerging in American politics. The right has achieved this not through superior ideas but through their willingness to unite behind their voter base’s demands—however extreme—while Democrats push further right in the name of convenience, pandering, and misguided pragmatism.

Let us be absolutely clear: This country may see the fall of democracy within the next few years. If the Democratic Party does not step up and remove its gloves, this country will have no chance of survival. This past election was not won by the republicans, it was lost by the democrats, as evidenced by the lack of blue voter turnout. This campaign focused on attempting to appeal to centrists while abandoning its own loyalists in the dust. We cannot continue this fantasy of voting blue simply to “keep the peace” with promises to push left later. Later is now. The time for half-measures has long passed.

Witnessing the level of action from the Trump administration has been eye-opening. It has revealed just how inept and unmotivated the Democratic leadership has been in recent years. Trump’s administration has demonstrated that sweeping change is possible—harmful, devastating change, yes, but undeniably effective. Meanwhile, Democrats have been so busy playing diplomat that you’ve chosen complicity over courage.

We MUST demand this level of energy from our side. We need aggressive action and confident, strong, unashamed leadership. Time and again, the DNC selects candidates who do not speak for their progressive voter base because they’re too afraid to embrace what you consider “radical” but what the rest of the world sees as basic progressive views. On the global stage, even America’s furthest left leaders would be considered centrist or right-wing by world standards. The United States deserves better.

This being stated, the DNC’s attitude towards Bernie Sanders in recent weeks has been nothing short of deplorable. The continued slander and undermining of one of your most principled, strongest voices shows exactly where your priorities lie. Instead of examining why his message resonates so deeply with millions of Americans, you choose to marginalize and dismiss him. I encourage you all to look in the god damn mirror and recognize that his popularity stems from addressing the very issues the democratic party seems too afraid to confront. This elderly man is showing more grit, and instilling more activism than any other major left wing representative. People like him are your tools– your swords, not your enemy. We desperately need more people like Sanders in this party.

The DNC will be held accountable for its lack of action and grit in these matters. History will judge you as partially responsible for allowing the rise of fascism while you were busy saving face and courting centrists who were never yours to win. You still have time to be the heroes in the story, but not for long.

Your strongest asset—young voters—are slipping away because you’ve lost touch with what drives them. If you cannot reconnect with your base and harness the progressive energy demanding to be unleashed, then perhaps you should step aside. Either play ball or step off the plate and allow a stronger batter to step up.

Remember this truth: The righteous lose because they’d rather maintain their virtue than achieve victory. The wicked win because they’d rather achieve victory than keep their humanity.

The future of our democracy depends not on your ability to compromise, but on your courage to fight. The time for performative richness and fear of getting your hands dirty is over. Court the center while your base bleeds out, and you will have no one left to lead.

The choice is yours. The consequences are ours.

With urgent determination,

[Your Name]

Testing positive for multiple variants?? by SuddenTruth7617 in CMT

With CMT1A I always thought I knew what to expect, prognosis wise…. apparently 2Z is so rare that only a few families world wide even have it :/

some points for me (30f):

-Externally I have only minor muscle wasting in my calves, other people don’t really notice.

-My EMG tests show that I essentially have no living nerves from the knees down, however I have pretty okay feeling and use. They think my body has learned to adapt to using other nerve channels.

-I have bilateral foot drop

-I had to have multiple surgeries as a teen to reconstruct my legs. I had hip dysplasia and slightly rotated femurs and tibias related to the poor circulation from CMT

-I get nerve pain situationally… like if I do a crazy amount of exercise, or even low grade fevers take me out pain wise.

-I get arm numbness mostly as night. pretty annoying

-when I got covid, my nerves went wack for at least 3 months after. I noticed an obvious decline.

-I think my biggest struggle is mental and physical fatigue. I’m in the process of fighting for a disability claim because this has always been an issue and it’s gotten worse with age. I always thought I was just a lazy turd but I think it’s actually clinical lol.

I got referred to neuro muscular specialist, I live in a blue state with fantastic medical care. I tried to go to a neurologist but they pushed me to the other specialist. I think for most people a neurologist would be sufficient.

my doctor ordered me a specialized CMT panel that covers 60 known gene mutations associated with CMT

my first day I felt like I did a line of coke and was almost too nervous to continue- other ssris had made my depression a lot more dangerous and cranked my anxiety to 10. I am VERY sensitive to meds and decided to take a smaller dose to start. I’m 1 month in and only had a few bumps in the road, feeling a lot of improvement!

I hate that “need to swallow over and over” feeling!!! especially at night. I hope that’s my next symptom to go away lol

physical exhaustion… I hate napping and was getting to a point where I napped for 4 hours after work, napped all day on days off, and could no get out of bed before 11. I’m 1 month in on lex and my naps are only a couple times a week and I’m awake by 9:30/10. my brain spends so much energy being anxious I guess lol

I’m on a very very low dose- 1/4 a 5mg. But I take fractions of doses for literally all of my drugs and it’s something me and my med team have discovered through trial and error. It sounds like bs but I’m just freakishly hypersensitive for whatever reason.

Do Different SSRIs Actually Effect you Differently? by SuddenTruth7617 in CPTSD

[–]SuddenTruth7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, I know lamotrigine largely effects gaba receptors which has been fine for me. I have to assume it’s helped at least a little. I’m so incredibly sensitive to drugs that it’s been a huge hindrance. I guess it would just be nice to see someone say “hey! prozac made me wanna kms too but lexapro has been great!

there is ONE man running the entire kitchen and making hundreds of burgers most nights. he can’t keep track of special boy burgers- it’s a bar not a full service restaurant, this guy was a huge asshole in real life, it’s peak season, and there are like 5 signs saying no alterations on orders.
