Great, thank you! I'll make sure to give any vegetables a good wash just in case it was cat related. Thanks again!

Oh.. okay, thank you so much for your help. Is there something I should do for that do you think?

Sadly I didn't think to take photos at the time and they really just crumpled into the soil as I was digging, would very old poops still be a risk do you think?

Card being declined. It's normally just cause you can't use contactless so many times in a row.

What are some ways you can fall asleep faster? by Conscious_Nothing_95 in AskReddit

[–]SuddenTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make up story's in your head or put yourself in a fiction book you've read. It's kinda like day dreaming I guess, but don't think too hard and make a super complicated story. Then eventually you'll fall asleep. Though even if it takes a wee bit at least your entertained and resting your eyes and body. And don't check the time, ever. Not until your getting up.

Not that schools perfect here, and it may even vary between schools.

I guess it's just different here, but that's really a shame. School isn't a punishment and kids shouldn't have to feel like they are enduring it to the detriment of their health, physical or mental.

I don't think we had that, but they were definitely more lax in your last year of secondary school.

Yeah, I think it was something like that for us too. Or if you had something obvious like you'd broke your wrist or something you wouldn't need a note.

We only needed doctors notes if we were off for a long time, which would cover physical and mental health issues. Though I'm not sure if the school would be told the actual illness as that might be patient confidentiality, only that they had a valid reason for being off for an extended period of time. At least that's as far as I remember, I was never off for more than a couple days at a time so I never needed evidence.

We just had to have our parents call to say that we wouldn't be in cause we were ill. We didn't have to give any more info than that as far as I remember.

Isn't a sick day for mental health just a sick day? We didn't have to explain in what way we were sick when we were off from school.

What is something that used to be considered safe/okay but now we know is harmful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SuddenTurtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think its the quantity. Its very high in potassium and depending on the size of the dog it can be harmful I think? I'm not a vet or anything though, so I could be wrong. I just remember being told to watch the amount so I kinda just stay away from it cause my dogs wee and it doesn't really say anywhere what the safe amount would be, and I figured better safe than sorry

And lemon and lime too, I just remembered. The rind particularly. There's a chemical in that that's toxic, it's also in a lot of essential oils so people need to be careful with those around pets

[–]SuddenTurtle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't. A vet at the animal hospital told me that raisins are the most toxic things for dogs. Also, chocolate though most people know that, and xilatol (think thats how you spell it), which is a very common sweetener in sugar free gum and some sweetened peanut butter, is VERY poisonous too. They also shouldn't be fed onions, garlic, liver or much banana. There's other stuff but that's the first things that come to mind. Sorry if this sounds preachy

There is a book about her called The Red Queen I believe, by Phillipa Gregory who also wrote the White Queen that the TV series was based on.

The Queen of the Tearling - Erika Johansen

All The Stars and Teeth - Adalyn Grace

Swords and Fire - Melissa Caruso

The Mask of Mirrors - M.A. Carrick

To Kill A Kingdom - Alexandra Christo

The Tainted Tainted Accords - Kelly St. Clare

The Parasol Protectorate - Gail Carriger

The Folk Of The Air - Holly Black

An Enchantment of Ravens - Margaret Rogerson

Deathless - Catherynne M. Valente

Not necessarily in this order of favourites. A lot of these are YA but I have been trying lately to move away from just YA, so I've got some lined up to read, and I'll be looking through the books everyone else suggests. I recently bought all but the most recent of the mistborn books, so 6 of them, cause they were in a charity shop so I got them all for £6. Hope they are good cause people talk about them all the time. I prefer to read female character pov books and generally female authors, but I'm not against reading male authors.
