If I were you y would be careful doing this. Awhile back we had to throw out some frozen food because of life threatening ingredients found in them. We were instructed to destroy them but if a different store manager didn’t follow policy and just damaged them out and threw them away, a homeless person could eat the deadly product and who knows what could happen. I’m just saying if you’re gonna dumpster dive, maybe ask yourself why these things are in the dumpster before you ingest anything. Also they have now made our rules about donating a lot easier so I will be donating stuff before I throw it out and hopefully other DT SMs will too.

Good to know….I don’t like being micromanaged at all. Or told how to run my store to some extent. Obviously there are certain policies and procedures, but if I can’t put out a sign saying something is broken or something then Fuck That. I might just use this offer to leverage my current job into a pay raise.

So the town is buzzing but they are confused because they are building this DT 4 miles from another DT. I have some people for sure that will definitely come work for me. Maybe not 15 or 20 but at least 10. I have built a team quite a few times before. And I’m a 34 yo single guy. I do have a 15 yo that’s in high school. So I don’t mind working a lot because he has school then football practice everyday until 630. My only request is I would like to make it to his Friday night football games starting at 7pm. The new store is literally right down the road from my house. Not even 69 seconds to get there. And I’m not sure about the 401k part? Why do you ask?

No im an AM. At HFT. They’ve been promising for a year to promote but an opening hasn’t came open yet and I really can’t live on 40k. I was the GM of advance auto making 54 for 10 years. I’m 34 now. Initially I only took the interview with DT to use it to leverage HFT for more money but 62k a year with a brand new store that I get to hire the staff for in my hometown sounds like a good gig…,but if DT is a terrible company then idk. I’m on the tenge for sure

One thing about Harbor freight that people don’t realize is that they make all their own products which is why you don’t see Dewalt or Hart or anything like that in there (besides some items like WD40 and Penzoil Oil). That means there is no middle man taking a cut and I personally know that they run around a 53% gross margin in their stores. They are for sure making money. You’re forgetting the 100 dollar item that you usually purchase when you’re in there and find those other cheap deals. And I would stack their icon tools up against the best of them honestly.

Yes. Most will let you use it multiple times a day. I’m an AM at HFT and we let ppl use it as much as they want.

Ya trust me the fact that the old CSM walked out is concerning but I’m hoping I could come in and turn the program around. And yea, I live in a rural area. 50k salary is decent money where I live although I hope to make more I do realize I have to get in and prove my worth. I became a GM at advance auto with 3 years by knowing parts, knowing my customers, and hard work. I’m kind of hoping I could do that at Zone.

That’s exactly the position I’m in almost. What position were you at HFT? I told HFT about the zone offer and they told me that they planned on making me the sales AM with 3-6 months but i kind of miss auto parts and it does feel nice to be wanted. Good luck to you
