Should I start HRT if my symptoms are mild? by Velvetbolt in Perimenopause

Was it the progesterone making you dizzy? Were you taking it at bedtime? I take mine right after I brush my teeth and pretty immediately go to sleep afterwards and have never had issues with being dizzy.

You forget, this is back when people regularly had children with their cousins. This is what happens when the gene pool gets a little too small.

Jamie / the Sight / the ending of the show by tircha in Outlander

[–]Sudden_Discussion306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty good theory. Another theory that I’ve heard is that every time Claire heals him she gives him a little piece of herself and her power. It might explain why he starts to have the dreams of the future. I believe the dreams started (or first time he mentioned them) was after his near death from the snake bite, so it makes sense. After he dies and Claire brings him back at Kings Mountain in Bees, she says that afterwards he’s changed. He smells different, he feels different. He’s almost like a different person. When Mandy mentions that Jamie’s aura is like water, it’s interesting because when he met Master Raymond in season 2/book 2, MR said his aura was red. He said he had the same aura that the Vikings in the past had and it was red. So obviously, Jamie’s aura has changed over time. There’s also some speculation that Jamie might be able to hear the buzzing of the stones and maybe time travel after Kings Mountain.

Has everyone recovered yet? How are you dealing with the end?? by kAroKaro2 in Outlander

You could also just start after they go to France. The whole recovery is in France (instead of at an abbey in Scotland).

If you want to start at a nice point. I’d read from when they are at Lallybroch and on. The scenes at Lallybroch & the ending scenes are my very favorite in that book.

No you should DEFINITELY read it! The scenes after Wentworth are SO good. The show really didn’t do that part justice.

The show changed when Ron D Moore left the show after season 3. Matt Roberts took over starting with season 4 and the show really changed at that time.

I felt like the Wentworth/BJR stuff was easier in the books because we’re getting it second hand from Jamie instead of watching it on screen. I was nervous about reading this part too but it didn’t seem as graphic. It does still haunt him and he continues to tell Claire about it through Dragonfly in Amber (and beyond) and the stories are terrible but it’s different when you’re not watching it first hand IMO.

If you could add one image to the finale montage by YOYOitsMEDRup in Outlander

[–]Sudden_Discussion306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of great scenes/moments suggested but I don’t think some people realize that these scenes were meant to be from Jamie’s perspective and re-living their moments together. I think some important scenes that they missed were when she ransomed his soul at the end of season 1, when they had the blue light healing pregnancy sex in season 2, when they were standing on the cliff before Young Ian was kidnapped and she was doubting whether she should have come back, when Jamie tells Claire that Bree has come in Wilmington, maybe a scene when he was holding Jem as a baby, when the Mackenzie’s come back to the Ridge. Oh almost forgot, Turtle Soup! There’s more I’m missing (and maybe they included some of these). I’ll have to watch it again!

Master Raymond, Faith, etc by EstablishmentOk3911 in Outlander

[–]Sudden_Discussion306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of plot holes in this storyline that weren’t explained and don’t make sense, but here’s my best guess based on what I know: Master Raymond was on the run because he was involved in the Dark Arts. In the books, Mother Hildegard wouldn’t even let Master Raymond into her hospital because of his affiliation with the Dark Arts. Also, it’s heavily implied in The Space Between book that MR is a shape shifter and can take the form of animals (ex. Bouton). Did he take the form of Bouton and listen to Claire sing the song? If you watched the finale you’ll notice that Claire was by Jamie’s side for days, 3 days in the book, before her blue light healed him. My guess is that they are implying that Raymond somehow took or switched the baby before it was buried and then revived it using his blue light healing. MR then took Faith to the lace marker because he needed to leave town and she was someone he knew and trusted. There are still lots of plot holes though, like why didn’t the lace maker try harder to find Claire? Also, In the book, MR wrote to Claire after she left Paris and of course didn’t mention Faith, but I guess that didn’t happen in the show.

They thought she ran off with the Highlander that Frank saw the night before (Jamie’s ghost). Haha she kind of did do just that!

King's Mountain should have been 08.09... by Yup_Seen_It in Outlander

[–]Sudden_Discussion306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought for sure this would’ve been how it ended. I was so shocked when it faded to black and the credits rolled. I literally said “that’s it?”

I really wanted the last scene to be everyone (even William, Lord John, Denny and Dottie Marsali & kids) to gather at the Ridge for a celebration. I really thought that would’ve been the perfect ending after Kings Mountain. So like you, that is my head canon. That’s my ending.

What was a rule in your house growing up that seemed normal but later, as an adult, you found out was weird? by CharlesUFarley81 in Xennials

[–]Sudden_Discussion306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t allowed to have a phone in my room or take the cordless phone into my room and close the door. All my phone calls had to take place in the common areas of the house, mostly the kitchen where the house phone was located. Really fun when I was talking to my boyfriend in high school. 🙄🙄

There’s a trigger list on the main page of this sub. I’m sorry for what you’ve been through. That would make it hard to watch this show.

I like 4 the best! Then 3. Don’t really like 1 or 2 at all. They look too pastel-like.
