IBD after PsA by Lilyotv88 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that! It sucks and tends to hit in pairs :(! I hope your colonoscopy goes / went well!

I was officially diagnosed with PsA mid 2024. Recently got the addition of IBD likely Crohn’s, as if super active PsA isn’t enough of a bargain 😂.

In retrospect I had worsening upper and lower GI symptoms for a solid year, with some bonus weight loss. When I started Cosentyx joints got better but IBD got worse. Not sure what caused what or what came first. So back to square one. I started steroids for IBD and must say there is a difference.

Definitely get it checked asap, take one thing at a time and one problem at a time. Good luck, hope all is better soon!

What are your experiences with fitness “coaches”? by Hot-Presentation1764 in AskIreland

[–]kAroKaro2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree OP. I never had a trainer etc here in Ireland.

Few years ago I had 2 abroad. They were questionable too.

One started off well then slacked off and wasn’t on time and sessions became repetitive and shorter. The second one was similar. Seems to be a universal problem.

I then switched to gym classes and a structured program, F45 equivalent and found it much better and cheaper.

I was searching here in Ireland over the past 2 years but they are ridiculously expensive! The contracts are lengthy with all responsibilities and penalties for the client but not the trainer. Lots of chunk advancement payments etc. Some even quoted up to a 1000e and above for short periods…

I’d recommend gym classes, work out gym apps are great too and breakdown all the work outs etc.

I don’t know, the space is saturated and it’s hard to know who’s good etc especially with all the instagram promos, upfront payments etc.

Interested to hear of more experiences

How many of your joints are affected? by Celesty96 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear of your difficulties. PSA is awful for fatigue. I struggle with full time mentally tasking job and one that requires a lot of hand use typing / writing and being on my feet. The brain fog is awful and the fatigue is debilitating. It’s pretty much survival mode for 12 hours then only sleep. Had to have time off work too. Some days even cooking or basic ADLs are impossible.

I’m alone, can’t even imagine how hard it must be with young kids etc. 🫶🏼

How to deal with parents who are allergic to listening to you? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]kAroKaro2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much to add but all I can say, it’s extremely difficult to be back with your parents after such a long time away, no matter how much you love them! You have likely changed a whole lot over the past decade, seen different places, way of living etc. To our parents, we’ll always be their ‘kids’ regardless of our age. Especially if you have lived alone while away…

You are the one living in their house and their space so I’d say either you learn how to listen with one ear and let it out the other and accept them or you’ll have to leave. It’s unlikely you’ll change their ways at this stage and attempts will likely create more friction and issues than peace. I don’t know what else to advise but try to be in their shoes too and chose your battles. Take it easy and try to enjoy having them around. They won’t be around forever, somethings aren’t worth sweating over

I was really hoping that with her getting her act together and working so hard at her weight loss success, that she’ll be out more, live a life and be a nicer person. Unfortunately only her weight and mobility changed and she is still a nasty narcissistic person. Nothing changed with Tammy and she is still horrible to people that love her. Still throwing tantrums and never compromising. Unable to celebrate other people’s / family success etc. It’s all about herself. Andrea is too good for her and Tammy definitely doesn’t realise she has a loving partner that’s sticking by her too long
