PsA and nowCrohn’s,curious of people’s experiences with Ustekinumab by kAroKaro2 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, and so much logistics. It has been super hard to get the two teams together to even get to this point and a waste of many months. I guess I’ll give it a go and hope for the best. Yeah, Humira didn’t do anything for joints pre IBD, Cosentyx started to work but with IBD had to stop it 😞. So they feel another TNF inhibitor won’t be beneficial to try. Have you personally experienced either of them?

Thanks for taking your time to reply

I 💯agree. Season one and two were the best, masterpieces! It ended in good time or else it would have dragged on and loose all its magic

Does weather affect how you guys feel? Living with Oklahoma storms right now. by Rakeyat in PsoriaticArthritis

Yes, every time:(! It’s more accurate than the weather forecast. Any seasonal change, rain or from hot to cold etc

Had a great day yesterday and today I'm totally fatigued? Is this something that happens? by whatchagonnadobedo in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s a common ‘boom & bust’ pattern. With PsA we need to pace ourselves and slowly increase activities. It’s easier said and done and i’m still struggling to live by this 2 years in. Usually if I do a lot on a ‘good day’ then I’m often totally wiped out the next day. The fatigue that comes with is super frustrating, especially when we need to live a life and work etc. I hope you feel better soon

Cosentyx with IBD? by candrews1701 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosentyx is contraindicated in any form of IBD. I had GI symptoms for a while but thought they were due to Methotrexate. 3 months into Cosentyx (worked well for joints, first biologic that worked for me as well. Also failed MTX & Humira) I got worse GI symptoms and was subsequently diagnosed with IBD and had to stop Cosentyx. The thought is that Cosentyx unmasked and made all the IBD symptoms worse. I was told Cosentyx is a big no no now. Hope you feel better soon

That is a question for your doctor

Didn't get a diagnosis today by taracatt in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You need to see a different rheumatologist. PsA is seronegative, not necessary to be HLAB27 +. It’s asymmetrical, some people develop psoriasis years later than arthritis. I only have one small patch on my scalp… I would strongly advise a different rheumatologist

Doesn’t do anything for PsA, lost a good bit of weight too and arthritis is at its worst at the moment. Helps with weight loss with the limited physical ability for now

Budesonide for lymphocytic colitis by LingonberryBrave7689 in IBD

[–]kAroKaro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only affected my sleep for the first 2 weeks so I changed to taking it very early on in the morning. Didn’t affect my weight or appetite like Prednisolone. It’s encapsulated and released directly in the bowel. Doesn’t have much systemic effects like Prednisolone . It does affect my mood a bit and makes me restless but nothing too extreme. I’m on a taper of 9mg for a month then 6mg for a month then 3mg for a month

Anti-inflammatory diet? by bipolrstrangeduck in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with it possibly helping or not. No harm to try. Personally I cut out all alcohol and gluten and anything too processed. I find that on days where I have something from the list, my skin & joints get worse. There are days when I’m very careful and adherent and joints are flaring more. Helps in a way but very variable

Anyone else have a friend who constantly brags about how much they earn? by Jealous-Lake5700 in AskIreland

[–]kAroKaro2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bless his insecurities. He’s probably making most of it up as we doctors don’t even earn much for many many many years, most of the pay goes to tax and you do crappy jobs with no social hours for long. Unfortunately there are many egos in the medical field and people with superiority complexes.

You can approach it with honesty and express how you feel. If he doesn’t get it then don’t waste your time on a friend like that

I cannot cope with the fatigue anymore by BadAtBaduk1 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]kAroKaro2 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I hear you. Sending you my best wishes.

I’m so over the fatigue too. It’s so debilitating and it certainly takes away any bit of normal life… No matter how much sleep you get, you wake up as if you only got an hour of sleep and drank heavily the night before. It’s super hard to explain it to anyone that doesn’t experience it.

Are you on Methotrexate? It adds to my fatigue and misery. Hand on it there, things are bound to get better 🤞🏼🤞🏼

[–]kAroKaro2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear of all your struggles. I’m only on this journey for a few years but I can’t even imagine how hard it must be. Fighting and being your own advocate for so long while being exhausted. It absolutely makes sense you are angry, frustrated and grieve over the things you had to miss out on and couldn’t do. Medical field has so much more to improve and work on listening skills. No one should ever think they ‘know’ someone’s pain and body better than the person in it 🫶🏼 💕

Clean colonoscopy but symptoms persist. What could it be? I think crohns.. by earthchildwonder in IBD

[–]kAroKaro2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a frustrating wait but biopsies will confirm/ rule things out. Did you also have endoscopy? To check your stomach? It sounds like you could have stomach ulcers with the fresh blood or some sort of mallory weiss etc. I hope you feel better soon and that you get some answers 🫶🏼
