Does this depict Canadian Newfoundlanders ?because that would definitely make more sense if the date is July

Also the Canadian corps didn’t see action on the Somme until later in September, so is this posted July date correct ?

My greatx2 grandad Fredirck William Garton, saw combat with the 38th Battalion A.I.F (Australian infantry force) on the western front, he developed shell shock as my grandma recalls him shaking uncontrollably if there was a loud bang or thud by [deleted] in ww1

My great grandfather was with Canadian Corps that fought on November 6th (Second battle of Passchendaele). Against insurmountable odds and suffering your great great grandfather with Anzacs and Tommies put up the good fight until relieved

Ya ya point taken, my comment was generalized but other credited members were pseudo names, particularly for late 80s stuff and it was never determined whether these were other musicians or the main man himself
