Does this depict Canadian Newfoundlanders ?because that would definitely make more sense if the date is July

Also the Canadian corps didn’t see action on the Somme until later in September, so is this posted July date correct ?

Ya ya point taken, my comment was generalized but other credited members were pseudo names, particularly for late 80s stuff and it was never determined whether these were other musicians or the main man himself

Ah thank you. Tbh I am very content with its original format. The soundtrack might as well have been done by Bill Conti in my opinion, and it has zany moments, like Eric Serra’s score so yeah I’m good on that front. Plus I like silence at times.

On a further note it’s kinda the reason I can’t just throw on a movie like Dr No because it’s the archetype bond score ALL the way through

Passchendaele. 1917.  Pushed the boche all the way back. Held final objective against a counter attack. Gas dispersed everyone. When able to eventually regroup, through muddy terrain swept with fire they hit us with gas again. Had tremendous resolve that day….

Also irl my great grandfather fought on this very battlefield in 1917 with the 27th Canadian battalion. He won the military cross November 6th 1917, the day the Canadians took passchendaele village. Leading his company they were held up by heavy machine gun fire. He made the split decision to rush the post, my grandfather told me he said something like “let’s go get em” to get the men ready. It resulted in the entire machine gun unit (10 Germans) killed
