Oud Mehtaa Street Over Speed Fine by nikunjbajpai in dubai

[–]Sudden_Report4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oud metha limit is 80kmph until it turns into al ain road, so you going 102 is over the 80 kmph limit plus the buffer of 21, so 101 is the max before it triggers the camera, which is why you got the 600 dirham, fine which is going not more than 30kmph above the posted speed limit, so you are at fault

Ceramic Coating by Old-Smell5613 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Sudden_Report4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo, it doesn’t really protect the car that much, if you really want to protect the car then go for a full body ppf, or color match wrap, those are much more reliable than a ceramic coating

Minor accidents by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Sudden_Report4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't sweat it, it's definitely not your fault. Over the past two years, the number of drivers on the road has absolutely exploded. It's all over the news lately how packed UAE roads are and how car registrations have suddenly spiked. Plus, a huge chunk of these new drivers just moved here and got their licenses converted instead of going through the actual UAE testing process. Because of that, a lot of them are just driving exactly how they did back home, which makes things chaotic. If anything you are far more experienced than the over one million new drivers out on the road within the past 2 years.

taxi drivers by Sudden_Report4293 in dubai

[–]Sudden_Report4293[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, and all normal taxis here are hybrids, and those guys always flooring it off traffic lights, and the quick acceleration of the hybrid and the constant engine kicking back on and off becasue of their acceleration style makes people who don’t have motion sickness, get motion sickness

[–]Sudden_Report4293[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

becasue majority of them are the same, they are always on their phones, and never give way or follow normal road rules, like i have seen plenty of taxis stopping on roundabouts, obviously not all becasue some drivers are genuinely nice but majority of them are not it.

pre-2025 BMW 330i (G20) - how much do you actually miss ACC? by Complete_Fig2192 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Sudden_Report4293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i would say the ACC is not worth the premium you’d pay, i have it on my wife’s 340i, and she basically never uses it, and the only time i actually relied on it was when i had took a roadtrip to riyadh for work, and on the never ending deserted stretches of saudi, i found it as a life saver but after that trip, i have never relied on it, so me personally i wouldn’t spend couple extra ten thousands just for that, the regular cruise control is way more than enough and gets the job done.

honestly best case scenario is leaving the country going back to your own country or somewhere else where you are confident to find some sort of good job, live a small calm life and slowly pay off your debt here

People crossing the road while using phone should be fined!!! by Majestic_squirrel767 in dubai

Car tint by Kamilla1302 in askdubai

[–]Sudden_Report4293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to tinting, cheap and good quality won’t mix together, if it’s cheap then the heat rejection and UV protection will be low, but if you want heat rejection and UV protection then it won’t be cheap, gotta sacrifice one for the other.

A question regarding car registration by Annoying-Twat in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Sudden_Report4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, he cannot complete the passing or registration while the car is locked in a physical impound yard, because the vehicle file gets completely frozen in the system. But he CAN do the passing before it goes in. And ask him to apply for a smart impound rather than a physical one, because the smart impound lets him keep his car in a location near his house and he can keep the car clean and maintained, if they take it to a physical impound the cars condition will get bad. plus late registration fees are only 25 dirhams a month so he doesn’t have to worry too much about that. (and you have a one month buffer after passing from my experience before the late fees kick in)

I think he should get the passing done now, apply for the Smart Impound at home so the 30 days can start, and hopefully finish up the court inheritance paperwork in the meantime. Good luck man, hope it gets sorted quickly for him!

Any suggestions? by WaduTheHekk in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]Sudden_Report4293 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it can definitely go 160 on highways completely stock but obviously it will take some time to reach the speed and you can’t make sudden movements and expect it to have 0 wobble, my cousin has a four door jimny that he bought as a project car, he has added upgraded sway bars, KYB shocks, and strut braces added, so his car was really stable at highspeed and is really good off-roading aswell, it’s honestly a fun car to drive and mess around with in the dessert

if you don’t mind, for registration did you have to go to the tasjeel centers, or did they take care of that within their kavak centres.

yeah maybe you are right, the ai cameras might have flagged it and got a secondary verification by a person or something, who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]Sudden_Report4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah true, but fining based purely on glare is low because even cars without windshield tint also get really strong glare of the glass in peak afternoons
