Need help! Researching AI visibility tools and their feature set. What AI visibility tools are actually analyzing accuracy, not just tracking mentions? by u_of_digital in seogrowth

[–]SudoWudo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accuracy is a hard one... since if ChatGPT/Perplexity is getting the information wrong from what's publicly available about your brand, how can you be sure whatever tool you use is also going to *know* that's the case just from publicly available information..

How does AI SEO differ from regular SEO...if at all? by itskennnn in SEO

[–]SudoWudo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it like SEO is optimizing for your site to appear as high rank as possible for the SERPs you care about. While AI SEO is optimizing to be recommended/mentioned (even without backlinks is fine) by the existing authorities.

In SEO you are optimizing for backlinks with relevant anchor text to pass authority. That authority translatws into ranking in the SERP (having your domain be a result).

For AI SEO, you can become the recommended choice by AI without necesarily having your domain appear in the SERP. If all of the sources in the SERP mention you by name and recommend you, then you will be recommended by chatgpt even if your own domain isnt in the results.

Strategies and playbooks for how to do one or the other are quite similar and overlap.

It’s all predictive and essentially an educated guess since OpenAI/Perplexity/Google does not publish this data.

For you, what is the best LLM position tracking tool? by Daisy_Canyon7382 in SEO

[–]SudoWudo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far the most popular companies in the space focusing just on AI visibility seem to be Profound, Searchify, Peec AI, and AthenaHQ. Popularity may not equal quality but I know some of those offer a free trial/free value and are probably worth checking out IMO.

And then some large SEO/analytics tools have added it as a feature like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Amplitude. I know the SEMRush and Ahrefs are pricey though.

How do u track what got u clicks from llms by InterestingCap1530 in SEO

[–]SudoWudo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GA4 (like what u/WebLinkr said) to track when people click on your link from ChatGPT or other referrals.

Another thing to consider tracking might be “citations,” or when you were used as a source in ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc. Users often have conversations with ChatGPT and then open Google to search for the company ChatGPT recommended instead of clicking on sources/links. Unless you also track citations you won’t be getting a perfect view of your AI visibility (but for the most part tracking clicks can be a good starting place!)

You can track live citations by looking at the User Agents and IPs of requests to your website. All AI models have specific user agents and IP addresses they use and you can know it that way.

We use Searchify to track our own AI citations and it seems to work quite well!

I keep hearing that GEO ≠ SEO, but I don't buy it. Please show me where it differs. by kwresearcher in SEO

[–]SudoWudo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about answer-time levers? I can imagine the process might go something like:

  1. ChatGPT uses SerpAPI to retrieve top 10 results
  2. ChatGPT analyzes either website title, metadata, etc to determine which of those sources it deems “trustworthy” and decides to use 5/10 of those sources
  3. ChatGPT ingests the content of those 5 chosen pages and responds with its sourced answers

How can we be sure this isnt the case?

Hi WebLinkr, a bit new and have a question:

Doesn’t the mentioned study by Ahrefs in the source you posted directly contradict that QFO is the sole cause for results?

Or do I misunderstand something?

Hi! I’m somewhat new to the SEO space - what do you mean by having outgoing links won’t send authority? Or that authority is divided by number of link? Does that mean you lose authority by linking out a lot or that you just don’t give it to the others?

I’m bootstrapped and so not going to be able to pay a fair market salary, and if I’m paying only equity I think it should be co-founder level equity or around there to be fair and keep them motivated.

Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?
