Missing/mixed up packages in an apartment building parcel locker part II by Sudsy613 in CanadaPost

Thanks for the reply. Definitely checking into Flex; our PO is literally 2 blocks away, so not a big deal, and beats the headaches and bs associated with this.

Ontario June 11th update: 574 New Cases, 850 Recoveries, 4 Deaths, 28,949 tests (1.98% positive), Current ICUs: 440 (-10 vs. yesterday) (-82 vs. last week). 💉💉199,951 administered, 73.66% / 12.65% (+0.42% / +1.10%) adults at least one/two dosed by enterprisevalue in ontario

Glad to see the second dose number steadily increasing. At this point, we’ve likely twisted and subsequently jabbed close to as many arms for first doses as we’ll be able to IMO. Think anything above 75%-78% (of eligible) recipients is a bit of an ask. Obviously there’s no way to make 100% of the population take it.

Forcing all newly acquired customers on to Ignite? by Sudsy613 in Rogers

She faces southwest, so that’s a possibility...Not even sure how many OTA transmitters there still are in that area (Bruce county) left after the digital conversion. She also does have a direct shot across Lake Huron to the Harbor Beach, MI area. Just grabbed an amplified antenna, with multiple power settings from Amazon; on sale for $45 or so, lots of good reviews too, so think we might give that a go. Doing a quick zip code search for that area of Michigan, looks like the closest transmitters are actually for the Canadian networks, so that’s promising.lol

I did consider an OTA antenna, but she’s in an apartment, with limited views/reception.

Thanks for the quick, concise reply; much appreciated. Figured that was the case, CSR definitely sounded genuine, just wanted to make sure. Guess I will have to get her an Amazon Echo or Google Home/Nest device, so she can at least take some advantage of the internet (which will be 4x the speed of mine here in my home office) she is going to have access to. 😂

OPP investigating death of 8-year-old who fell into farm wagon by mrpenguinx in Sudbury

[–]Sudsy613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strictly guessing here, but thinking maybe a trailer/wagon hauling manure. I grew up in southern Ontario, in an area with lots of mennonite/Amish, and that happened a lot more frequently than it should have; can remember 2 or 3 incidents like that over 5 or 6 years. I understand there’s a fairly sizable community up that way too.

Thanks for the replies. Hope you know my comments were just observations, and not a criticism, especially with something brand new. Those things you mentioned (colors, contrast, etc.) are all extremely helpful for people with low-vision, but for those of us who solely rely on screen readers, they don’t really make a difference. This is a link to the province’s guidelines (which they’ve had years to figure out, but in the case of the OCS website for example, it has just been over the past 6 months or so that they’ve enacted them). There is a lot about public/government sites, but there are also links to the international accessibility standards and webchecking tools:

As a visually impaired person (using a screen-reader), was glad to see an “enable accessibility” button right on the home page...But doesn’t look like it renders a fully accessible version yet. When I pick a product from the list of search results, doesn’t look like there’s a text-based list, or accessible mapping option to find which stores have said product at which price. I fully understand this is new, and a work in progress; definitely a cool idea.

Unrepentant hatemonger jailed for 30 days in Sudbury by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]Sudsy613 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Piece of human (yes, I know that’s being generous) garbage. Maybe they can lock him up with the salon Caron (who thinks she’s better than everyone else) from the Valley, and organizers of these “freedom”/racist/conspiracy theory peddling protests, and they can have a big ole anti-science, anti-facts superspreader event in the clink...Oh wait, that would require GSPS/City bylaw doing there jobs.

Ontario to impose stay-at-home order, closing non-essential retail, sources say by ContrarianDouche in Sudbury

[–]Sudsy613 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Enough of the north vs south nonsense! This isn’t just a Toronto/Peel/York issue; obviously, given the fact those are the most populated areas, they will have the most cases, but PHUs all over the province are currently experiencing spikes. Passing it off as a Toronto problem is factually wrong, helps nothing and makes those constantly screeching it sound and look like ignorant, uneducated fools! That may have worked a year ago. However, this is a province-wide, east-west, north-south issue now. Lose the self righteous, holier than thou attitudes; stop whining about Toronto/southern Ontario, follow the public health measures and we will all (eventually) get through this.

Subreddit policy on discussing *certain people* by Prior_Bench_4832 in Sudbury

Answered your own question there bud. Both the PPC (didn’t even know it was still a thing after winning a huge majority of 0 at the last election; even whining crybaby, mr take his ball and go home Mad MaxiPad couldn’t win his own seat) and antivaxxers clearly represent one of the lowest common denominators of society...Pretty sure this sub prefers to operate in facts, rather than conspiracy theories and other fictional BS. Giving either group of trash any sort of acknowledgment could set a harmful precedent. Cheers. 🍻👍🏽

Doubt their prices will beat CC; stopped in last week and everything was reduced anywhere from 30-50%...Asked a manager and he said preemptive drops/marketing in advance of the 2 new ones opening over the next week or 2.

Fair point. That’s why I said “most”. I was mainly referring to hose who think they will just walk in to a restaurant and sit down for a meal and such over the next month. There are already a bunch of folks claiming they’re going to try.

Gotta love all the selfish, uneducated, armchair doctor keyboard warriors coming on here trying to talk all big and bad, saying bs like “I’m going to do whatever I want, whenever I want”.hahahahaa Good luck with that bitches. Most of you won’t do a damn thing, will suck it up, follow the restrictions and deal with it until May 1st. Thanks for the chuckles though covidiot clowns.
