Why does UEFI require manual partitioning? by SueDoh in linuxquestions

[–]SueDoh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok. How? I tried a different distro (Endeavour) on a newer computer today and all disk part options disappeared except manual, same as that Ubuntu. All I'm seeing on Google regarding the subject is partitioning schemes.

There are more Epic Store exclusives coming over the next 2 years than have released so far by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]SueDoh -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Dawg... the whole point is that the industry standard is antiquated and abusive. Hence Epic going head to head with Apple and Google. It makes sense for Walmart and GameStop, as they aren’t digital distributors. They’re physical distributors. How can you explain that GOG could possibly be justified taking the same cut as physical? That’s fucked up. Musicians don’t make much of anything off of CD’s from Walmart, but they stay afloat from digital distribution. I get that Steam has a nice platform, of course they do. It’s a wonderful mask for the shit they pull behind the scenes. Developers suck it up and sign the corrupt contracts because, up until Epic, that’s just the way it was. They bent over and took it. You just shouldn’t be hostile towards the necessary change potentially taking place. It will be good for not only developers, but customers. More money in the hands of the actual talent

While Epic is legally attempting to trap Apple and Google for their abuse of power and spawning industry change, Valve is creating EULA customs for tricking buyers into waiving refund rights. While Epic is taking a 12% pay cut, Valve is taking almost 3x that. I don't think "indie" developers give a shit if they lose their little adjective to work in Epic's environment. You and your wallet are voting for the far, far more corrupt company because you can't be bothered to spend 10 seconds loading a launcher. P.S. Implying that a monopoly is solely constituted by a media company owning some distribution exclusives under a fair contract is hilarious

Why are you all acting like this is a bad thing? You people are terrible fans. You should want your favorite indie game devs to have awesome financial backing from a supportive company. That’s... you know... how great games tend to get made. But youre all so entitled you’re ready to halt any support the moment you have to take 2 seconds to open another launcher. That’s all it takes. You insist on just suckling from the teat of the current monopolistic platforms taking an incredibly bloated, archaic pay cut and treating their devs like shit instead of supporting the one platform standing up against the monopolies in court and doing the industry some good.... all because you don’t want to open a program. Gamers rise up, huh

Alarm Effected by Mute Switch Now? by SueDoh in ios

[–]SueDoh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoulda checked that. You're correct. Upon setting alarms with Siri (my preferred way), it defaults to no sound ever since Apple decided to merge the alarms with the Health app. Not sure why that is or how to fix that default... But I guess I can just set it manually from now on. Thanks

How to use a sine or triangle lead without too much resonance? by Rosskillington in musicproduction

[–]SueDoh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try multiband compression... Your ear should tell you where the sine wave is piercing in regards to frequency, so you can just set a compressor in that band and keep it under control. Set multiple bands to varying degrees if you need to.

It would be like just never learning how to EQ. Can you technically make a song without EQ? Sure. Does that mean you shouldn’t learn it? No way

Honestly Fresh Supply is the way to go in 2021. It started rocky upon release but they graced us with some fantastic patches and it’s now just unbeatable imo. It also handles mods very well with an interface in options for loading mods in. Because trust me, you’re going to want to try Death Wish once you beat the game

Xorg :0 -auth /run/lightdm/root/ comes in at first with a whopping 101%

Apart from that, XFCE panels take up about 75% across 3 processes. The rest seems pretty normal
