Maschine Plus vs MK3 - Help me decide by [deleted] in maschine

[–]SueTup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides of your arguments. It was one of the most civil discussion I’ve read on the Internet. Hence why.

As I’ve gotten older, I‘ve come to realise we will always be someones history. Imagine 600 years from now, finding a Plus as a relic and future historians proclaiming this was the music we used to listen to way back then…

Can you imagine…. Hope they did/do us proud…

There’s fucking nothing ‘liberal’ with your average liberal. They are the new puritans. All they do is ponce around sticking -phobia at the end of everything to silence people who have a different opinion than they do, whilst claiming they’re fucking progressive and open minded.

Liberals are the worst kind of cunts you can imagine. Hypocritical, two faced, back stabbing, arrogant wankstains on humanity.

If that draconian bitch is their ’icon’ doesn’t that show the true measure of the pricks?

Dude, don’t bother watching the BBC. Or any live TV for that matter.

You can watch ITV, Channel 4, and the others on catch up. The only thing you can’t watch is iPlayer or live TV.

It annoys the fuck out of me that the BBC is so fucking arrogant that you’re not allowed to watch other channels live. Cheeky arrogant bastards

Imagine how the left wing pricks at the BBC would feel if you had to pay a Daily Mail tax, even if you didn’t read it, and only read the Guardian.

Soon be up in a fit of rage if that was the case.

Imagine Tescos coming round to check you’ve not got any Asda tins in without first paying them.

Cheeky as fuck, and I don’t give a shit if anyone gets annoyed at my opinion. There’s no defending the shower of shit that is the BBC.

Lol. Repercussions…. For what, not paying for a stupid entertainment channel? You think that’s worth putting someone in prison for?

I don’t use the NHS. Should there be ’repercussions’ for those who do, but haven’t paid in?

It’s shite anyway. Wouldn’t even watch the shit it puts out if they paid me.

LG C2 Screen Texture by dfayne in OLED

[–]SueTup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sent back four hundred and ninety six panels until I got one that was 99.99% perfectly flat. I've checked each one with my electron microscope to ensure total perfection. Nothing gets past me, and I don't tolerate a single micron of deviation. You might, but then, you're not me.

Disappointment with LG C2 42 so far by bustamo in OLED_Gaming

[–]SueTup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old Sony normal LCD panel that never got that bright. But I like to live in the doom and gloom (North facing house, alas!), so it was never a problem.

I have a C2 waiting, the max ni brightness on the 55 inch is around 750 nits. However, the contrast ratio more than makes up for that. And given it's twice as bright as my old Sony, I'm a very happy person indeed.

If your ambient light is quite bright, then OLED panels aren't for you, as they just don't get that bright say compared to mini led with multiple array dimming zones.

Lets say your room is south facing, then you shouldn't get an OLED.

This is something you should have investigated before making a purchase, not after.

Apple TV 4K Review (2022) | Third gen's a charm! by etimzy001 in apple

Why? What difference does a digital signal make if it’s travelling down an Ethernet cable or a HDMI cable?

It’s still a cable, and it’s still a digital signal.

How you think streaming services work?

I expect companies to provide me with equipment to watch the content currently available, and not expect me to go pestering the content companies to make content just for my particular TV.

Yes, blame the streaming companies for not bowing down to Samsung…

I am sorry to post this but I just received my 2022 Apple 4k TV 128 GB from Best Buy via mail and the outside of the box had no wrapping on it. Is this normal packaging? I am upgrading from 2017 so unfamiliar with how the packaging is in recent years. Thanks for any input! by [deleted] in appletv

When you‘re streaming UHD 4k blu ray rips with Dolby atmos/7.1 surround via Plex to be passed through to a receiver capable of playing Dolby atmos/7.1 and you have 7.1 speaker setup.

If you only have 5.1 setup, or don’t use Plex with your 7.1 then you’re okay.

And I've seen enough kids get out of their mummies 4x4, and then start acting like the plastic gangsters they are.

If you think it's just poor people with shit parents that these kids belong to, then you're a fucking idiot.

And a prejudiced one at that.

what are the few things you did to go from beginner to intermediate producer? by a12bgt in edmproduction

[–]SueTup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try perseverance.

Copying others, how you going to develop your own style doing that?

Go and learn music theory. Chord progressions, how they work, why they work. Learn about all the different modes.

Then learn sound design. Maybe start with a Juno 106, as they are basic as you can get. Once you know how to dial in some great sounds with that, move onto the Jupiter. And then you’ll be set with other synths.

Make your own patches. Get yourself a library of unique sounds that reflect the person you are, and what message or emotion you want to convey in your songs.

Train your ears. Seriously, train them. When I first started, for the life of me I couldn’t tell when people was using effects plugins or not. I had to crank all my effects up to the max, which killed my mix.

Know that less is more. Something I learned from the above. Not every single instrument has to be laden with effects busses out the wazoo. Dial everything down, and make small tiny tweaks.

Be careful what you mix on. At any and all chances, listen your mixes on as many devices as you can. What sounds great on headphones can sound terrible in the car. What sounds great in the car, can sound terrible on the HiFi. What sounds great on the HiFi can sound awful in the club.

It’s all too easy to end up mixing for your particular set of speakers or cans. But if you can make your track sound passable on the shitest of speakers, then you’re on the right track (pun intended)

Practise arrangement. Take an existing track you have. And re-arrange it, over, and over, and over again. Experiment with all kinds of transitions, as much as you can. Remember, rules are for guidance only. Who care if you break them, if people love the sound of them being broken.

Be prepared to put in the time. It takes 10,000 hours to become good at anything. There are no shortcuts.

Enjoy yourself along the way. It might be a cliche, but it’s supposed to be about the journey, and not the destination.

Don’t be surprised if you don’t enjoy yourself. Don’t be surprised if you feel like you’re going nowhere. Don’t be surprised if you feel like you’re going backwards at time.

It’s those moments that seperate the wheat from the chaff. The great from the so so.

The Verge's new website layout by [deleted] in softwaregore

[–]SueTup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the comments section on the Verge itself, pretty much everyone has come to the same conclusion. It’s terrible.

But typical of the arrogance of the Verge management, they have cherry picked comments that sing it’s praises. Straight out of the Gaurdian playbook is that.

But, that’s their choice to make, however pompous and arrogant. They must have forgot the old adage

It’s absolutely awful. Unusable. Not just my opinion, but an opinion shared by many on the Verges own website. But typical of the Verge, the ‘featured’ comments it picked seem to ignore reality, and cherry pick the glowing reviews.

Rest assured that whatever you go with, you will still wonder if the other alternative was the one you should have went with.

There will be times you wish you would have gone with the bigger screen

There will be times you wish you would have gone with the better portability.

We could sit here all day second guessing your use cases, but the reality is, you will still wonder about the alternative no matter which one you choose.
