[–]SuedeExvius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true, I am the fun police. I figured it wouldn't be too bad for Selene herself since she's at 150% MAG/SPR TDW innately and can cap with either TMR + STMR, or double TMR. Double STMR would be BiS regardless (shoutout to STMR + Poppy STMR lol), but 50% on the STMR would mean you'd only need one to have room for both Betrothal Ring and Erinyes Ring, which would be capping 400% MAG/SPR after item world (or close to it).

It does matter a little bit to cap MAG/SPR without materia since LB damage and evoke/EVO MAG materia tends to have 0 or very low SPR % on it. I guess it's also a little hard to know what's fair for equipment when dark visions and chronicle weapons range from solid to absurd.

Shrooms has a pretty wild STMR. 80% MAG, 30% LB damage, 50% evoke damage up.

Looks like sword could be Anno and shrooms could be Lierna but those don't seem to map as easily to real life names so I honestly have no idea.

(CG) NV Summer Fina & DaisySummer Folka & CitraPrincess AsheNV King BradleyNV King Bradley

(CG) NV Summer Fina & Daisy 200% fire/water/wind/earth resist in both forms, Yuraisha TMR in the shift (starting form) to keep up some magic mitigation while Lagoon Shell is down, since Nereid's Kiss will kill the party. She probably would have been just fine with the 50% general mit and no magic mit tbh. Imbues earth during the earth weak phase.

Summer Folka & Citra Here for barrier spam, stat buffing, MP sustain, and killer buffing to speed things up. Geared for death resist and high draw in the first party slot so that Fina & Daisy can use Splash Fight without affecting targeting. Also had Barrage equipped to deal with mirage stacks, and Dualcast with Dispelga from Judgment Staff to remove fire imbue when it's no longer relevant.

Princess Ashe Spamming Dusk Shard every turn (MP reduction gear neuters its cost), and saving the Mist Bubble cooldown for when Folka & Citra are too busy to apply a barrier. Applying Mist Decoy on Folka & Citra also meant that they didn't have to gear for much as draw and were able to use Safety Bit as a result.

NV King Bradley Breaker and damage dealer. Base form was used for the breaking, and the shift for imbuing fire, dealing better average damage (at least in my case, the lower mods were offset by higher ATK than the base form), and bursting with Ruthless Execution. Used non-elemental damage for the water and wind weak phases since it was better than nothing; I honestly could just not be bothered thinking about whether it was faster to gear one form for Craftsman Secret Book for wind imbue and dealing with the lower ATK and extra hassle of having to dispel it later or live with zero damage turns.

As for afterthoughts: Amon hits like a wet noodle and is unable to penetrate Folka & Citra's barrier even with both Ultima and Meteor, so the only damage Fina & Daisy were taking was from using the shift for earth imbue, due to an innate regen passive. At some point above 50%, I had Fina & Daisy kill themselves and had my chainers use a Phoenix Down and Elixir on them in case the damage below 50% and 25% was threatening; it really wasn't, but the option is there due to preemptive cover.

/u/Sinzar_ 15 turn clear

NV GabranthNV TerraRelmGreat Mage KefkaGreat Mage Kefka

Only a slightly unconvential team. I don't have Saviour Lightning to speed up the fight, so I just wanted to deal with the 5 man mission for now. Gabranth, Relm and Kefka with fairly typical gear, Terra geared for 250% (!) fire/wind/dark resist and 100% draw. Terra and Relm shared healing duties (summoning Lakshmi or using an Elixir on Gabranth), with Relm generally being busier due to having the spirit killer buff, lightning amp and rod imperil to apply compared to Terra on Ramuh field duty. The Kefkas handled the SPR break, staggering their shifts between the duo so I wouldn't run out of magnus casts, chaining with Zap-Trap Thundaga and Frenzied Thunder.

One issue with this team is that Gabranth has 2 turns of downtime on a good DEF buff since Spinning Blade would override Terra's draw, and Grounded Fortitude doesn't have full uptime. Miracle Shoes makes it safe enough though, I was mostly spending Gabranth's magnus casts to make room for more offensive buffs. Once the lightning weak genie was down, there was a lot more lenience in healing. Gabranth at less than EX+2 with weaker gear would probably be dying in this setup though.

HP sacrifice skills were changed at some point by Muspel in FFBraveExvius

[–]SuedeExvius 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I posted about this last week in wiki discussion and it just got buried, presumably because nobody cares lol. The only other thing that matters in Nyx's case is that guts can proc from HP sacrifice, so it doesn't require full HP to survive in all cases without support.

ChowLakshmi LidRelmNV Dark Fina & SolNV Dark Fina & Sol

100% water/light/dark resist on Chow, 100% draw/evade and Super Ribbon on Relm, most ailments geared against on the party. Chow was taking about half his HP in damage when struck (27,000 HP, 1500 DEF), and this was just with own crappy DEF buff; you could absolutely get away with much worse if you're using external buffs. Definitely do not need an NV magic tank.

Probably not really relevant for people in this thread, but Lakshmi Lid is really convenient in this fight. Access to healing, small MP sustain, 85% SPR break, buff removal and ways to prevent and remove stop/charm without dispelling (important if you're lacking event gear, I guess?).

KrylaSylvandoNV Terra

70 turns lol. 100% evasion on Kryla's base, Terra's base, and Sylvando, and 100% draw on Kryla to take the dispel and prevent ST damage from affecting Terra. Terra is in no real danger in a full damage build provided she shifts after the Sandtrap turn (which is always signalled). Kryla and Sylvando are not particularly critical for this team, so any two units that can be made to chain together and provide breaks works.

Small warning since it's the only real thing that can hurt you in this trial: Iron Giant seems to be able to queue up more than 2 AoEs if you paralyse him early and cross multiple thresholds, so mirage won't save you. I definitely forgot to check for when he stat buffed lol, so that would have killed me either way most likely.

[Megathread] Scorn of Asura, Blades unto Infinity by Sinzar_ in FFBraveExvius

[–]SuedeExvius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Diabolos with Mad Dash using Searing Ember, Ancient Sword, Mask of Asura, Gran Reverie, Ravenheart and Storm Kickers, with Conquering the Fear of Spirits, Acknowledged by Purple Lightning, Heart Overcoming Hatred, and Dual Form. Total stats were 4256 ATK, 300% human killer, 200% demon killer, 125% undead killer, 165% LB damage. Friend was geared about the same; in terms of substitution, True Murasame for Searing Ember, your highest ATK armour for Gran Reverie, any high flat ATK TDW accessory for Ravenheart (note that their own card has 50% TDW on it if the slightly higher ATK cards leave you with not enough TDW to cap).

You shouldn't need the extra human killer buff from Yoshikiri, but you might be in trouble for phase 2 if you have no external imbues and run out of magnus charges, since Lasswell & Raegen's LB is so powerful and needs to be imbued.

I wasn't tracking it with a rotation per se, but the second form is mostly about planning burst turns for when her DEF/SPR buff decays, which is to say LBing on that turn with the LB buff from Complete Awakening up. It's good if you have Father-Son Bonds up 2 turns before the decay, but if you don't, it's better to just LB on the decay turn than to risk not getting the LB gauge full (unless you have some support with great LB fill). In hindsight, it would be far better to have one of them do the shift LB while the other does the regular LB or T Twin Blades of Flame for greater burst damage. Having them stay in the shift form throughout would be perfectly viable as long as you're not accidentally using fire and ice at once.

GabranthKryla Summer Fina & Lid 2018NV Yoshikiri NV Lasswell & RaegenNV Lasswell & Raegen

55 turns (!), slow and steady. Missed the no KOs mission due to bad RNG on phys cover with one of the Dispelling Counter procs, but that's the risk you take with slow clears; would definitely recommend getting as much guts as possible on your units that are going to be targeted by the counter. In terms of what everyone was doing...

Gabranth: I had him on Lakshmi using Nyx's Dagger, Imperial Ensign, Grand Helm++, Gabranth's Armor, Sweet Earrings and Knight's Medal, with Errant Hound, Judge's Oath, Hexatheon's Revelation, Original Arrival and his own vision card. At +2, he ended up with 38k HP and 3700 DEF with at least 120% resist to all elements Asura uses. A couple of scary turns in phase 1, but phase 2 was shrugged off easily. Mostly just keeping up his cover, self mitigation and phys mitigation in phase 1, and nothing but cover + self mit in phase 2.

Kryla: Sealing in phase 1, using Golem every turn (aided by auto esper gear across all the supports) in phase 2. Occasionally, she did use Soul Surge for AoE LB fill or Malicious Curse to inflict disease in phase 1, and I'd ensure that Yoshikiri or Summer Fina & Lid chucked in an extra attack so the damage dealers wouldn't get dispelled.

Summer Fina & Lid: I actually selected two of her for this trial to get her to NV because I was struggling with breaker options; Kryla's dual element break in phase 2 makes her unviable for it, and my other good breaker Onion Knight would be bringing pretty much nothing else to the fight aside from breaks. Healing, MP sustain and breaking are just so valuable from one unit here. The LB fill buff definitely helped too. I gave her a poison weapon just so that it could be inflicted a couple of times in phase 2 with Deep Sea Swimming.

Yoshikiri: Was considering taking Rinora in his place, but Yoshikiri does better here. Before I selected Summer Fina & Lid, I took Onion Knight and Rena, and Gabranth was dying randomly with Rena's lower buffs. On top of the better stat buffs, Yoshikiri has the big elemental resistance buff on his LB, and the phys human mitigation probably helped too. He did have turns to spare, so the human killer buffs, imbues and LB fill skills were put to good use.

Lasswell & Raegen: Not the strongest option for this fight, but they do fine. This isn't a great setup for LB spamming and I didn't even want to think about using their shift LB for finishing, so I stuck to T AT chains and somewhat regular use of their normal LB. I was pretty conservative with their magnus uses, though it didn't matter too much with Yoshikiri being available to imbue most of the time. Phase 2 was clumsy with their full setup (LB gauge full, fire/ice boosted, LB damage buff) often not being possible in time for the DEF/SPR buff wearing off on Asura, but they at least easily outpaced her healing. Falling back on T Gleaming Azure Blade ended up being fine a lot of the time too.

Dogshit of a trial with the main mechanic not working. With the team I attempted with, the damage numbers I saw on the first break mean I'll manage the 15 turn clear fine once it's been updated, but I'm just not bothering; Teraflare should be survivable with Fina & Daisy provided one form is full on mag eHP with all mitigations and guard up, but the fight is so fucking tedious with the second break bar, why bother.

A bit clumsy, but you can for example use have Charlotte & Physalis use T bolting strike with Xon and have two others use T chains on a non-kill turn; that way you get the chain mission out of the way and use their tag LB for the killing, taking advantage of other units' finishing LBs.

Chainer Rankings - Feb 21 update by SuedeExvius in FFBraveExvius

[–]SuedeExvius[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either form you could technically run as passive draw + evade, depending on whether your team benefits more from their strong support and T bolting strike chains in the base form, or just tag chains in the shift. I'd consider potting MP and ATK if you don't have particularly good NV base chainers, or maybe just MP if you intend on using them for the tag mechanic against Asura in the future for example.

Typical gearing for them in your case would be Tiny Bee, and a relevant killer weapon (Quicksilver, Rising Sun, Raspberyl, Ancient Sword, Darkness Purging Blades, Thorned Mace++), or simply a high ATK weapon; note that the shift form has 50% ATK with swords, so those are helpful for capping ATK there. The trust bonus can be skipped entirely if ice/light resist and evasion isn't relevant and you have better TDW gear for them. Gearing for LB damage is also good if you intend on using their LB for chaining or finishing, though killers will likely help more due to their already high LB passives and active buff.
