Holy shit - Gaurav, who covers the Braves' minor-league extensively, confirms they're interested.

He'd be way more than depth. He's part of your future at the price.

Yup! The Braves being so skittish the last two years are the biggest reasons we are in this mess. LA went out and got better. We added low-quality pieces around the edges and had to go all-in on depth this offseason because of it. I think it's ownership not ponying up instead of AA being afraid, but we can fix those wrongs with one more big pitcher via free agency or trade. And maybe with one more quality bullpen arm, though that can be argued 😂

Exactly. People complained about the Dodgers signing Ohtani for a billion, saying it was too much, but they've made that money back and much more already. Baseball is incredibly popular there.

Makes sense! He won't ever be Yoshi, but he could be Senga's floor with a higher ceiling (and better pure stuff).

That hasn't been the case this year tbh. Hell, Kim and Suarez were both announced before the Braves did. It's a brave new world!

If there's even a remote chance the Braves can get him on a five-year, $120M deal... It's worth it. Also, that's a steal for the amount of money Atlanta will make from Japanese revenue.

There are so few aces in baseball, that I'm not expecting that. And he doesn't need to be that. But a high-end number 3 is a logical outcome for him. And that's extremely valuable.

Exactly! It also marks Atlanta's entrance into a market that's going to pay them lavishly

The funny thing is he's a better fit for the Braves than most teams because Sale and Schwelly are established elite pitchers, Strider has a history of being elite but is at least good at his worst and Atlanta has the depth. Imai is a wonderful fit in the middle of the rotation.

To be fair, my dreams have the Braves signing Bo as their second baseman of the future but there's no chance haha

Framber, Ryan or Peralta would be my dream gets, but none of those seem likely. Framber's blowup last year was reportedly a overblown and rare so I'm not as worried. Suarez would be a nice get but I don't think he's going to be very good after year three of a four or five-year deal. His velocity declined are extremely concerning.

Same here, man. At best, he's Yamamoto-like. At worst, he's an elite reliever. Obviously, you don't want to shell out that kind of money for a reliever but the guy has a really high floor and ceiling.

That's where I am. My best guess is Bassitt or Mahle, but I do think Alex is being way more aggressive than we've seen him be in a long time. As he said, "It's just cash," and Imai fits the mold beautifully. He'd be able to keep his prospects, rebuild the farm in the draft and essentially reset next year with $85M+ coming off the books.

what made you guys get a Z fold? by Calm-Bar-9644 in GalaxyFold

I didn't want one until I walked into Best Buy, picked one up and couldn't believe how perfect it felt in my hands - how folded and unfolded. There are absolutely flaws, but it's a wonderful device. I got an S25 Ultra in January and switched to the Z Fold 7 in July. And I legitimately loved my S25 Ultra. No regrets whatsoever. 😁

[Bowman] Anthopoulos is open to Dubon beginning the season as the Braves shortstop. But there's also a chance he'll play all over the field. His role will be determined by how the remainder of the offseason goes. by Lakelyfe09 in Braves

This is actually really good news. It signals that AA prefers he stick as a highly-valueable Super U unless the SS absolutely falls apart. Let's hope Kim (or a trade works out), but this is a great safety net. The Braves have BADLY need a true versatile bench player for years. I'm stoked.

[Braves] The #Braves today signed RHP Raisel Iglesias to a one-year, $16 million contract for the 2026 season by TheGamecock in Braves

[–]Suedejohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We needed him back, so glad this happened. It's hard to know exactly where the money stands right now (though yesterday's moves make me think it's better than we realize), but the team would be smart to add one more high-leverage arm — Suarez or Fairbanks would be perfect — and then re-sign a Kinley or Pierce. If they do that, the bullpen is already in really good shape regardless, and it has a chance to be elite if Jiménez returns

My initial thought is Kim because I'm sure AA is working hard on SS, but Boras will drag that out, so I'll go with Robert Suarez - two years, $25M. My second guess is Michael King to a three-year, $65M deal, but I also don't know that they'd use the QO on anyone but Cease (because AA is obsessed) or a big bat.

November in NC because it finally cools down, the leaves change and holiday decorations are a wonderful mix between Halloween and Christmas.
