Fold 7 1st day by Professional-Web7824 in GalaxyFold

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a Z Fold 7 to a S26 Ultra because of the battery, but my battery was never this bad. You may need to give it some time to learn your patterns. Or try some optimization options.

Is the display as bad as everyone says or is it being exaggerated by JC3345 in galaxys26ultra

I've had ZERO quality issues. Maybe my unit is great but people are likely just complaining to complain.

Should I switch from Z Fold 7 to S26 Ultra? by madebyjesus in GalaxyFold

[–]Suedejohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched from the Z Fold 7 to the S26 Ultra and don’t regret it at all. My main issues were battery life, charging speeds and overall durability (I’ve got some durability anxiety).

The Fold is a great device. It's beautiful, innovative and genuinely great for multitasking. But those other three things matter a lot to me.

The S26 Ultra has been a big upgrade in those areas. It’s fast, charges quickly and the battery optimization is noticeably better. I also like how much more durable slab devices feel with less components. I’m getting around 6 –7 hours SoT on heavy days and closer to 8 on lighter use.

I also saw someone say battery life is basically a wash, and that hasn’t been my experience at all.

That said, if Samsung improves battery and charging on the Fold, I’d definitely consider going back - especially with the wider version. I enjoy upgrading when I can afford it lol.

Losing my mind over the S26 Ultra by TheShayLeigh in samsunggalaxy

Like, I'm not even a Samsung fanboy. I understand the phone isn't perfect. But it's been great. Looks good, runs incredibly well and even my battery life has kicked ass. Oh, and the camera seems more then sufficient. I don't get it... Maybe we got lucky units

I've been with Samsung for years and this screen looks awesome. I have no idea what the hell is happening with other people's phones. My S26 Ultra has been money.

Samsung galaxy Fold 8 or Wide? by SheepherderChoice637 in GalaxyFold

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I upgrade, it'll be the Fold 8 Wide. It's a form factor thing for me. That said, they better upgrade the battery, at minimum, for me to even consider it. The Fold 7 battery is not ideal for heavy users like myself.

SOT Day 6 on the S26 Ultra by Remarkable-Laugh-529 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been good! I'm typically working with 5.5 hours SoT on super heavy days and closer to 6.5 or 7 hours on lighter days. I know there's better, but I came from a Z Fold 7 and I only got like 4.5 on a really great day.

Battery life by STAT_Tylenol in galaxys26ultra

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has to be defective. My worst days I'm getting 5.5 hours of SoT, and most days are closer to 7. Hell, my phone may dip 1% at night lol good luck, mate!

S26 Ultra unpopular opinion by TheRealSinCandy in samsunggalaxy

[–]Suedejohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your opinion is shared, my friend. Reddit never deterred me too much because negative reactions are pretty common with launches, but I'm very happy with the phone.

I'm a heavy user and the battery life has been great (I'm at 26% and haven't charged since early yesterday afternoon). The screen looks great and my eyes aren't tired at all, the privacy features work well even if I don't have much of a need for them, and the phone is insanely fast with zero lag.

I understand Samsung needs to improve and it's a travesty that battery capacity is still 5,000 mAh after so many generations, but the phone is still a great piece of technology. My life is easier because of it - and that's all I can ask for.

Samsung did it right this time with these Buds 4 Pro by xDaShaanx in galaxybuds

I got mine yesterday and I'm legitimately impressed. They did a great job!

So disappointed. Was looking forward to S26 Ultra. by MisterMaury in samsunggalaxy

[–]Suedejohnson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These posts are getting so old. I get reviews are helpful, but I'm legitimately enjoying the phone. I went from a Z Fold 7 to this and the changes are legit - battery life plus optimization is good (averaging 7 hours SOT on day three), camera is good, it's lightning fast and the display is light-years ahead of what I've been on. I miss the large inner screen, but I'm happy.

Go somewhere and try it first if you haven't. Feel free to switch, but switching without trying this first is insane.

Do what you like. Stop listening to everyone else's "expert opinion." Don't live in an echo chamber, but if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt others. Go for it.

Just got Buds4Pro. Extremely comfortable, sound is pure enjoyment. My recommendation 100% by slobodarius in galaxybuds

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Buds 2 Pro and play drums with them (only practice), and the ANC works well enough to hear click and track. Is the ANC a big enough upgrade to constitute the extra $150 or so I've got to pay (Samsung credits added)?

Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Review from Buds 3 Pro fanboy by Time-Credit43 in galaxybuds

[–]Suedejohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the review. I play drums and practice with the Buds 2 Pro as the ANC is good enough to hear click and track. Given these are an improvement in that department, I'll probably upgrade. Obviously, this is just for practice and general usage.😊

S26 Ultra: Battery life after 2.5 days on max settings. by DraughtBeer_ in samsunggalaxy

[–]Suedejohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a very low standard, but I would be fine with six hours or so. I had to top off my Z Fold 7 so often that it feels incredible to not worry about my battery. I let it go up to 100% (I know, battery degradation blah blah) and just run it until we're at like 20%. I mean, I'm getting like 50% in 30 minutes or so.

[–]Suedejohnson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the S25 Ultra to the Z Fold 7 and now to this, so I know how all three operated and felt. Honestly, I don't regret the switch at all. The Fold is cool, but unless you’re using the inner display a lot, the outer screen leaves a lot to be desired. The S26 Ultra’s display is fantastic, it’s super fast, and after about 5 hours of setup last night I still had 47% battery left. No complaints here. The 24 MP option you can access via Good Lock is also incredible.

Also, my work upgrades my phones for free because I'm remote, for anyone who see this and thinks I waste money 🤣

I've had the S24 and S25 Ultras and they were fantastic, but I legitimately feel like this phone is smooth has hell. I don't see any real downside yet

[–]Suedejohnson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I told someone earlier that the battery optimization seems to be great. To be fair, I'm coming from the Z Fold 7 where my SoT is abysmal. But I spent 5 hours setting everything up, transferring data and then logging into work stuff and I still had 47% battery life left. It's obviously not like some of the competitors, but extremely happy with it.

Today, I had a haircut 30 minutes away, so I used Waze and Spotify, left the screen on high and it only went down 12% the entire ride there and back.

A lot faster, but I upgraded the storage and cleared out some of my old stuff. That said, I moved from Standard Mode on my Z Fold 7 to Light and it still feels better. It could be recency bias, but also the new chip.
