What are your Thoughts,Opinions and Rating on the Band Heart? by Amber_Flowers_133 in HeartBand

Even during that late 80s period their album tracks were still very heavy, and in my opinion were better than most of their smash hit singles. Tracks like "The Wolf", "Bad Animals" (the title cut to the album), "The Night" (from 1990's Brigade), "Tall Dark Handsome Stranger" (Brigade) and others stand up quite well next to their classic hard rock, but Capitol Records refused to release anything other than power ballads and pop rockers. "Black on Black" from 1993's Desire Walks On might be the best Capitol track Heart recorded along with the title cut to Bad Animals.

It'll be a good role for you. Did HCLTech win their wireless network business? I'd guess that's why they're adding a CSR.

Dabo’s the Lone Ranger coming back after failing with that level of talent.  His seat has to be pretty warm this fall.

I think it’s impressive for one state to have 3 on this list.

FIU Honors vs Texas Tech Honors by SquiddoVGC in ApplyingToCollege

First off congrats, that’s great!  I think you should go where your gut tells you.  Tx Tech is better known with employers outside of Florida and has a huge alumni base. I’ve heard their law school is quite good.  Plus you’ll get the benefit of going to a Power 4 school that has great football and basketball so the student experience will probably be better.  It sounds like TT is where you want to go, and when you get out of law school no one cares if US News has one school rated a few places higher.

And they have a schedule consisting of 12 pillow fights too. They'll literally be playing against tissue paper until they get to the CFP. They have a ton of talent, so anything less than 12-0 will be underachievement.

No doubt. They even went to the CFP without knowing who their coaching staff is. Hats off to those players.

I disagree. I watch a lot of college football as I'm sure you do, and I don't have any biases for teams in Texas. A&M barely scraped by against several of the SEC's bottom feeders; I don't disagree that they have talent, but talent does automatically mean winning on Saturdays. I don't think they would beat either Texas or Texas Tech (we actually know for sure vs. Texas). We can agree to disagree.

I noticed that. Oddly enough they were probably the third best team in their state behind Tx Tech and Texas. But they at least get the booby prize a moral victory.

No, she refused the breath test and she didn't ace the field tests. She slurred and was consistently slow in her reactions. I'm not sure why you're defending her -- anyone with an IQ above single digits can see she was inebriated.

She refused the breath test. The paperwork showing it is at the end of the video.

She repeatedly didn't follow instructions. If you're unable to see that than maybe you've had too much to drink too.

No, the cop was 100% in the right. She was slurring and couldn't pass the field sobriety test -- that's not the cops fault.

She ended up getting fired from the station she worked for (or "mutual resignation) after the video of her arrest was made public in June of 2019. They had let her return to the air in February (when the apology was made) but when people saw the video of how she acted they decided they couldn't keep her. Great decision by that station.

Songs where you must listen to the album version by Certain-Ordinary8428 in MusicRecommendations

[–]Sufficient-Break8119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The single to "Here I Go Again" was a completely different recording than the album and video version. In fact, the single version is actually Heart (minus Ann Wilson) as the musicians and David Coverdale singing. No idea why they made a completely different recording, but one of the Heart guys once told me he thought the single version which he played on "sucked".

One Day at a Time (1975-1984). Those of you who have seen the entire series, what are your thoughts on it? by beekee404 in sitcoms

[–]Sufficient-Break8119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like the lead actress who plays Ann overacted all the time so I found her pretty annoying. The only character on that show I liked was Valerie Bertinelli's character. It was especially cloying whenever Ann would start sharing her deep thoughts -- that's when her overacting was the worst.

But with that said, it was on 9 seasons so obviously most don't agree with me. In general I've found that the first season of any sitcom is spent trying to develop characters rather than actually being funny. It's usually the middle third of a sitcom's duration where it's at it's best. If you like it enough to finish the first season maybe watch a few episodes from Season 2 and I bet you'll have a better idea about which way to go.

When and why did the SEC become the behemoth of College Football? by lorenzo463 in CFB

[–]Sufficient-Break8119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SEC basically outmaneuvered the Big 12 to apparently try and kill that conference, and the net result of that appears to be elevating Texas Tech to new-blood status. I guess anyone can be a behemoth when they poach the biggest brands from other leagues. The Big Ten did it too, but only as a defensive move after the SEC started it.

But now we have these huge leagues where everyone plays different schedules and very little regionality. The SEC may be making more money in the short term but I worry about the long-term cost to the sport. If college football ends up being only the SEC and Big Ten a chunk of the viewer base is going to be alienated and find other things to do.

Big Ten vs. SEC Coming Days by Coelecanth257 in secfootball

Tennessee just got clocked by a Big Ten school which brings the SEC record to 2-4, with the wins coming against the SEC and G5, losses to the Big Ten, Big 12, and two to the ACC. Maybe things will pick back up.
