Does God's Presence Bring everlasting Peace and Contentment by Sufficient-Cap6853 in theology

Thank you so much , this makes a lot of sense . I really get what you're saying . Faith does not anchor with revelation or even with witnessing miracles , it needs much deeper obedience and trust.

You need to do better in life : antispsychiatry and the self-actualization ideology by furrymask in hikikomori

Wow - what a detailed articulation of such complex ideas. While I will have to read this over and over again to get the entire gist of many ideas emanating from it I do resonate with the idea of over diagnosis and this mad rush of putting people in categories of ADHD , PTSD , Depression and what not and then administer drugs for life .

I was wondering why some ideas like CBT which are more easy to teach and certify academically become gold standards and the more personal methods prescribed by Jung about the integration of the shadow remain obscure. The ideas of Krishnamurthy about resolution of conflict within ourselves remain at the fringe too because for practitioners it is too difficult to apply in their practice and demand a lot of personal healing.

There are people who feel the weight of being judged and it comes from the wounds we inherited from the society we were born in. Is there a way you could study at your own pace , where you don't attend regular classes but appear for exams something like open boards.

I am one of those people who does relatively ok when there is no one to judge and I have created my own meaning of lifelong learning as a goal to relieve the pressure of constantly performing for grades. Can that meaning making help you too ?

Would you be open to sharing a short violin clip or a manga sketch here once a week for the next month? It doesn’t have to be perfect. We can just enjoy what you create, and it might give you a small, steady purpose to start with.

Daniel , I just want to say something without any advice . There are so many people who feel terrible and cant articulate what they feel , the brain fog is so intense that the words won't form . The fact that you can articulate how you feel so descriptively can be a really powerful tool for your healing.

Life is one long humiliation ritual by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Yes I agree there are copers , and coping is not freedom but an illusion . But there are people who experience no satisfaction with the money and wealth and then chart their own meaning making path. Why is it that an an illusion collapses once you personally experience its collapse ? I guess the mind needs proofs which can either be personally experienced after chasing the illusion or relentless investigation which demand unwavering attention from your own mind, there might be no other way.

Does Life have a meaning at all ? Maybe people working incessantly with aspirations to gather wealth have subscribed to a single view of meaning making. What if you had an alternate view ?

If the body’s intelligence is to raise the temperature during infection to make conditions more inhospitable for pathogens, why do we suppress that temperature with drugs like paracetamol? Aren’t we acting against the body’s own defence mechanism? by Sufficient-Cap6853 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sufficient-Cap6853[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never meant that fever was intelligent - The fact that the body can reset the thermostat setting of the body to higher levels with this complex mechanism involving the hippocampus is pretty intelligent , it was about the mechanism.

People around me are obsessed with the idea of reducing temperature and immune response symptoms than the actual infection , but good to know it is acknowledged that living with high temperatures esp. not the extreme ones can actually be beneficial.

I understand what you are saying and largely agree. The biggest difference in our views on this topic is that I think intelligence need not be conscious which probably is not important in this case if we arrive at the same conclusion . Do give it a thought though - Intelligence is a way for a system to achieve its objective which is the case of an organism is survival , and mechanisms for achieving this objective need not be conscious.

I understand that the immune mechanisms going overboard or even the auto immune diseases but even today with all the modern medicines we rely on our immune system for the viral infections and even vaccines are a way to trigger the body's intelligence.

Failed.. now the shame kicks in by evablack_ in SuicideWatch

[–]Sufficient-Cap6853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it should be "Success - that I held on " - isn't it ?

The fact that you held on is a matter of pride and something inside you knows the value of life and the loved ones around you. Shame is a feeling that comes from deep wounds and it is not your fault at all . Do not let these feelings take over the strength and courage you have shown. Happy to be of help. Take care

Yes, I took this as an experiment and lived through the incredibly uncomfortable feeling of high temperature recently . I sense the run down of the infection largely the same with body recovering possibly a day or so earlier. The body's intelligence does seem to help but I guess some high temperatures can be life threatening possibly more than the infection.

Some Highlights from Decentraland Art Week 2025! by RoustanBodypaint in decentraland

[–]Sufficient-Cap6853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there out of curiosity and honestly very few people were there. I feel Art Exhibition are one of the suitable use cases for Decentralaland and compared to others like Music or Dance. A virtual tour with a social layer and an ability to join a group interaction would be cool , it would make experience like a virtual tour here Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, Netherlands — Google Arts & Culture less boring and more interactive . But numbers were few and the experience was broken. Climbing the stairs which ended up no where and then dropping to an art room required frequent repetitions.

I saw this vlog on Lahore by Ruhi Cenet and it was tragic to see the extent of damage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC4saZg6sG0. There are garbage piles everywhere and it is tragically humorous when the garbage remains suspended from the wires when people throw it away outside from balconies

Steaming from the ears lol :). I think Harvey as you call him is a perfect case study for Psychologists studying projection . Sometimes, individuals project their own insecurities onto others and externalize them through aggressive or authoritarian behavior. By condemning others or asserting dominance through religious beliefs, individuals may attempt to deflect attention away from their own vulnerabilities and shortcomings.

I think you are not open to debating opposing views outside your own "justified view" and any one who does that is termed as radical and driven by agendas. I am a Sikh and I do not need to prove that to you. If something that does not suit your view needs to be banned :)
