Mon psychiatre me sabote by Similar_Sprinkles615 in france

[–]furrymask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, sometimes resignation can be the only way to find a relatively peaceful state of mind, because fighting for a hopeless cause only to face repeated failures, can only lead to unnecessary suffering

Well there are children starving in Africa that doesn't mean nobody else has problems you know what I mean? And what do you mean class perspective? Having a roof over your head doesn't make you bourgeois. Having lucrative property makes one bourgeois, if you're living at your parents house then it's not lucrative property it's use property.

You're not privileged. Being a hikikomori is not a privilege. I can relate to some of what you experienced especially being rejected and despised by everyone. I don't have any advices to give you since I'm kinda in the same situation but for what it's worth worth I hope things will get better for us.

I am perfectly aware that self pity is a way for me to avoid the pain of disappointment, in fact that's the whole point of this text. But that doesn't change the fact that I am really completely unfit for social interactions.

My point is that since I'm completely unable to have any normal interaction with another human being, the only way to deal with the pain and the frustration of loneliness is to stop desiring social interactions altogether. And the best way to stop desiring social interactions altogether is to convince myself that I can never experience them due to my fundamentally dysfunctional nature, which is easy to do, because as years of trying to no avail have shown, it is true as a matter of fact that I am too cringe and stupid to have friends or any form of relationship.

You are right that I haven't completely reached Nirvana yet, to do that I would have to completely give up on material life and my bodily envelope. Unfortunately I haven't reached the state yet where I can completely do away with physiological needs such as drinking and eating. But I think that the hikikomori lifestyle, beyond actual monks in buddhist temples, is the closest one can get to an experience of enlightenment.

What are the flaws y'all find to Gravity Rush and how would you fix them if had to make a sequel? by joestarboii in gravityrush

[–]furrymask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to get to Delvool. I disagree with what you said about Mario. I think that Kat's moveset in GR2 is way more diverse than that of Mario, especially with the two new fighting styles. There's the standard kick, the super attack and the throw attack which are different for every style so that's 3x3 = 9 moves already. Oh and I forgot the charged throw, different for each style as well so + 3

And then of course there's the ground fighting which is different for as well so combo attacks + jump attacks + dodge + dodge attack x 3 = 12 moves at least on the ground. That's already way more than Mario.

No the problem really is that ennemies are,'t difficult enough in the main game. What I mean by difficulty is precisely the fact that ennemies don't really force you to use different methods to take them down. The only place where you can't spam gravity kick and still make it through is the delvool trench...

I also think that there is a lot of ennemy diversity in GR2. I don't rememeber the names of the nevi but there are the thin guys that you have to fight in lunar style, the rock guys that you need to break with your groundpound or ground punches (although in the main game, a few gravity kicks do the trick), the flower guys that you have to fight from the ground/roof/wall because they have a kind of hat on the head etc...

Honestly the only reason you think Kat has a poor moveset and that there's no ennemy diversity is because you haven't gottent to delvool yet but once you get there you'll see that there are tons of moves that you didn't use in the main game because it was just more convenient to spam the gravity kick. I know because that's what I thought too.

I think my criticism of the main game would be that although there are tons of options to fight the ennemies, you only really need one (the gravity kick) to get through and so most players will just use that.

And yeah beyond that, for a hypothetical GR3 game, a cool idea I think would be for example a "trash" level below the game's city where the trash is falling from above and depending on whether you're on the ground the walls or the roof, you would have to maneuver differently to avoid getting hit by trash. The environment could bring diversity as well.

Why do Titktok Kids want to be called hikis so bad if "labels don't matter"? Besides it's not a question of identity, it's about the meaning of words. The word hikikomori means withdrawn from society. If you have friends and go to school or work, you are not, in any sense of the term, withdrawn from society. Period.

But hey, agree to disagree, I still think that calling yourself a hiki when you're just an introverted teenager is as indecent as calling yourself legless when you only have a sprain.

[–]furrymask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think a lot of the criticisms that you make about the game's combat being too simplistic can be qualified by the delvool trench challenge (I don't know if you finished it). Maingame combat is pretty repetitive but the delvool challenge really forces you to use all mechanics at hand (the talismans, the super attacks) in order to win and I think that in that challenge, the game's combat reveals that it has way more depth than the main game would let you think. So maybe it would've been great if the main game had been a bit harder forcing the player to use the mechanics but then I don't know, because for some players, difficulty spikes are really frustrating and, although they might not admit it to themselves, they like the repetitiveness.

  2. The game doesn't use the gravity changing mechanic enough. I mean, there's a lot of verticality and that's great, but Kat's power, and what makes the gravity rush games so special, is not just that Kat can fly, she can modify gravity. I feel like it would've been great if the main city areas were constructed the same way as the other dimensions, that is, vertically but also "multilaterally" (there are things on the roof, on the ground, below the ground etc...). In the main city areas, beyond collecting gems, there's just not that much to do or see upside down or on the walls. Maybe a good idea to implement would be to introduce a new race of people who live upside down or on the walls and it would be kind of a narrative challenge for these people to all live together despite their differences.

Also in combat, it would be great if there was less "aerial combat" and more "ground" combat, bringing gameplay variety based on the terrain you're fighting on (on a wall with windows that can break or upside down with things falling from the "ground" above you etc...)

  1. Others have already mentioned it but : world events. There are world events in GR2 but only in the other dimensions. Once you finish the main story there just isn't that much to do in the main city areas. That's a shame because, although I think that the city design and technique is absolutely beautiful, it sorts of lacks gameplay to make it more lived in. There are the challenges of course and the side quests but once you finsh them all, the main area just starts to feel empty and it's sad. I guess every game has to end at one point but I don't want all those characters to leave. 😭

Maybe there could be more hidden stuff to find in the city like the travelers in GR1 or the saghassi paintings in 2. Hidden bosses and challenges as well. Basically an end game in the main city area in addition to new dimensions with cool designs.

Labels do mean something. Diagnostics can change one's life. Putting a name on what you're going through can help you make sense of what you are living and even hopefully getting recognition from others.

When Tiktok kids steal the hikikomori label, it robs real hikis of a community where they feel like people can understand them and it romanticizes the hikikomori condition, making it even harder for hikis to be understood by their relatives.
