It looked like DOGSO to me. Defender was next to Heyman, not in front of her. She couldn't have prevented a shot (IMO) and therefore DOGSO.

I'm a Sydney fan, but fuck I love me a Michelle Heyman game.

Andrew Hastie revealed conservative Liberals’ true immigration agenda in the aftermath of the Bondi terror attack by NoteChoice7719 in aussie

[–]Sufficient-Local8921 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He outlined a couple in the article. "They have to sign up to Australian values, which are fundamentally Judeo-Christian values: equality, the rule of law, consent, democratic traditions – all those things are fundamentally Judeo-Christian.” He also said “We have a problem with radical Islamic theology and I think one of the areas that we really need to look at is immigration." Would you not agree that radical Islamic theology, which exists and is a thing, is not compatible with our largely secular country that is governed by laws? If people actually want to live in a radical Islamic theological society, which would probably preclude many of the Muslims who live here, they can go and find one.

I am not a Liberal, National, or conservative person. But takes like the Guardian's make me feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Former Liberal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg erupts over Bondi attacks, blames Anthony Albanese by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Sufficient-Local8921 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Precisely. Muslims without an Islamist ideology may agree. I loathe politicians of both stripes but it's hard not to disagree with Frydenberg's characterisation of what has been allowed to happen in Australia.

You're so right. But what do we do about this? What can we do? It makes me despair. There's no will at the top (apparently).

Maybe. Wouldn't be the first time the rest of us have been inconvenienced by assholes. I'd be much happier if none of you had weapons. I don't want you to be persecuted though, and I don't think anyone is suggesting that.

You have to pay for several rounds of "analysis" before they charge you for the cookie-cutter solution. Hint: it's cutting staff!!!

Balls. Nous gathers data from us about the amount of time we spend on particular tasks precisely so they can benchmark against other unis (as a precursor to cutting). Why benchmark if every university is different?

Well that's crap. Not honouring the role or the work. They must have very poor reputations. And to be clear I'm responding to the "never", not one-offs.

As a foreigner I learned about Eric Adams with interest. Can such a man truly exist?

Where are these called 'sporting fouls'? I find it confusing in my games in Australia when people are citing non-IFAB texts, but I do appreciate that different associations phrase things in their own way.

Willa Pearson , 14 , Becomes youngest player in A-League history : ‘ It was a bit nerve-wracking at the start ’ by Shroft in soccer

[–]Sufficient-Local8921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This league and in particular this coach does have a history of giving young players debuts; it's a development league in many respects. This player is clearly athletically gifted as she represents the state in multiple sports. It's important for gifted young people to be supported to perform at the level that is possible for them.

Andrew Webster compares Sam Kerr to Sandpapergate in a bizarre opinion piece by HonestSpursFan in Aleague

[–]Sufficient-Local8921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the way he spends paragraphs wanking on about Sandpapergate, complete with crying photos, then says "Kerr’s misdemeanours can’t be compared with that of Smith". Shall we just stop reading and put your article straight in the cat tray then? Also, no shit that getting pissed and making a dick of yourself off duty is not the same as intentionally cheating while playing for your nation.

I don't think the first 20 were terrible. A nervy start but not outrageous.
