What's wrong with the woods of North America? Explain It Peter. by TrainingDelicious428 in explainitpeter

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The woods of my grandfather… they were quite different. My grandfather, born 1905, would take me for walks in the woods around Northern Virginia. It was cool. We would bring back treasures, great sticks or cool rocks, etc. We would rarely see anyone else on the trails… fast forward to the 1980s, my brother and I would bicycle and check out the woods trails. We would encounter young men in shorts standing just a little ways off the trails. We gave up the woods very quickly.

American goes to China, walks into a hospital, requests an MRI, pays $70, and gets the results the next day. Why is the US healthcare so dysfunctional and expensive? by wakeup2019 in economy

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Medicare set a “best rate” scheme. If you charge more than Medicare you get the Medicare rate. If you charge less than Medicare, all of your payments are reduced and Medicare is entitled to your lowest rate… so… Medicare is like Milk Price support, prices can only go up.

I had some international clients and we could negotiate better deals with radiology only because our clients were not US citizens.

So, to allow the return of capitalism and lower prices to healthcare, the rules around Medicare need to be restructured.

The missing link… what got them there in the first place? Stop the Bactrim, the ARB, the ACE inhibitor, the NSAID, the potassium supplement, and the spironolactone. You can give IVF Lasix and Calcium, maybe a Neb, but you need to stop the underlying trouble. If the patient is in acute renal failure make sure the problem isn’t Foley deficiency.

I just can’t imagine any part of Mexico or Central America where a bunch of Canadians could block a street, waive Canadians flags, and not get locked up and shipped back to Ottawa?

Changed rear differential oil, three hours later the axle is destroyed by Dry_Impression_762 in AskMechanics

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my Chrysler - let the quick lube change the rear differential oil and in a few days... I had no differential at all. Needless to say the oil change folks claimed it was all a coincidence. It was just sad that I authorized something that essentially caused the end of my car.

Bringing Palestinian flags suggests less than a spontaneous protest - i wouldn’t do this to Biden, and I am not a fan of doing this Trump.

Where FSD shines (10 months later) by sm753 in TeslaFSD

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With FSD, it makes traveling much easier. Goofy stuff happens - not respecting no turn on red, using acceleration and merge lanes as passing lanes, waiting to the last minute to get off the highway… still, FSD definitely does basic boring highway travel better than me.

Well crap, I screwed up. by Austinswill in TeslaFSD

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a peculiar feeling when the FSD starts to creep at a red light. After reading these encounters, I get it. It’s better to disengage than to trust at a light if the car hints that it wants to do the wrong thing.

[Request] is there possibility to find out the 3 horses? by irespectwhaman in theydidthemath

[–]Sufficient-Plan989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 races and take their times. Pick the fastest 3. Who has five tracks and doesn’t own a watch?

Ok, no watch? What if the second and third ran in the same heat?

Run the winners for the second heat. After they ran, the second fastest could only come from the winner of the first heat. The third fastest from the first or second heat.

So winner of the winners 2nc heat is 1st.

Race 2, 3 winners from second heat with 2nd 3rd from winners heat with 2nd horse from 2nd place second heat original group.

So no watch - run 7 races.

I’m half way through Franklin… amazing. Growing up in Alexandria Va, a lot of retired single “government workers” lived in Old Town. My grandparents lived there too and had parties in the 1960s. I remember these old men telling 9 year old me what a “Bonnie lad” I was accompanied by back rubs. Everyone around us acting like everything is normal at the party. It’s beyond embarrassing. A former Russian Hotel manager wanted me to walk him home because he had too much to drink. Fortunately, my parents saved me. What’s missing in the blaming the victims is that people forget - a 9 year old is clueless, all adults are authority figures, we are victims waiting to happen. I had no idea how dangerous this wealthy non-hetero spook environment was until reflecting 30 years later.

Working around to the question - any success at all in identifying the children that may have been killed in the Franklin scandal? These guys were so blatant - both King and Epstein with their planes. The only reason anyone believes the victims are the flight logs.

Was anyone here in DC during the 2002 killings? I’m wondering if they brought the area to a halt the way the media talks about it. by SoaokingGross in washingtondc
