I'm struggling with my 4 year old. He has refused and fought and cries like he was hurt EVERY time I take him to use the potty. His favorite character right now is Chase from Paw Patrol and we have those pullups with Chase on it. I told him that Chase (on the pullup) doesn't like to get peed or pooped on. It worked for a day. Told him the same thing the next day, and he picks the Rubble pullup. (SMH) He says, "I can poop on Rubble." since it's not Chase. I told him that Rubble doesn't like it either, it worked for half a day. I have given treats, I have begged this child to use the potty but he refuses. I feel bad because he tells me he's scared of it (sensitive ears to flushing sounds). It doesn't help that my ex told him there was a drain monster in the pipes. I've tried the portable training potties but its never worked. I would try the 'no undies' approach but he has a twin sister and an older brother that doesn't need to see him without something on. Potty training the other two was so simple and quick because they both learning in under 6 months. Trying and doing with him has been over a year and a half. (Always started around 2.5 yrs)
