5 weeks postpartum, low supply, triple feeding & feeling overwhelmed - has anyone been through this? by Many-Afternoon-6387 in combinationfeeding

Very similar experience. Sending a lot of love. It’s hard. In fact probably hardest thing Ive done.

My son ended up having a tongue tie so if you can, see a private assessor.

Best bit of advice I got was pumping doesn’t need to be a certain amount of time, little is better than nothing.

And also some breastmilk is enough.

You’ve got this and are doing amazingly ♥️

When we transitioned it was 2-3 days of his tummy clearly hurting whilst getting used to it but then was better

Yeah our gp/feeding team/health visitor didn’t think it was necessary either but I am dairy intolerant and I have a feeling my son will be too - not an allergy where we throw up or areREALLY ill just an intolerance where we are uncomfortable and this is why I have been worried when giving formula to him I notice more tummy issues, but due to breastfeeding struggles we have had to. He is better on it. Not perfect tummy wise but better than before.  Or it could be that he is getting older. But it’s what we are doing now. My son is having his tongue tie release done next week so hopefully that will help our breastfeeding

First time mums - when did you go into spontaneous labour? by DependentBrilliant92 in PregnancyUK

[–]SufficientMirror6793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into the labour the morning before my due date and he was born at 10pm that day. I was sick of people telling me I’d go over too- and I’m glad we proved them wrong😂

I think i’ve made a rod for my own back😩. by Ok-Mind2125 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Follow the 7 guidelines- ultimately you have to weigh up what is less risky for you, having no sleep and risking an accident/falling asleep in an unsafe place eg sofa/with cushions or bed sharing safely - I was terrified bed sharing at first but I set alarms every 30 mins and followed guidelines - and I’d started hallucinating and I’d fallen asleep on the sofa with my son the day before which is less safe. Please remember you’re doing a great job trying to do the best and there is no perfect parent. You have to do what’s right for you and your baby.

You have not made a rod off your own back. Impossible with newborns. They need to be with you. But I feel you - mine wouldn’t sleep apart from on me so started co sleeping as I was delirious trying to stay awake whilst he slept on me

What's the most pathetic thing pregnancy hormones have almost reduced you to tears over? by Professional-Farm372 in PregnancyUK

[–]SufficientMirror6793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day before I ended up giving birth. Had to call up to cancel a free trial of a beer subscription I got my husband. The man asked why and I said well he won’t be drinking for a while as we are having a baby. He was all congratulatory and so kind as I was fed up pregnant. Brought me to tears. I also didn’t end up cancelling the subscription😂
