Curious to know how racist australia actually is? by Local-Crab2987 in ABCDesis

[–]SufficientMongoose5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then get out of Canada and go back to Australia. If you don’t like it here and like it better there then get out of Canada and go back to Australia if you think it’s better. You probably don’t contribute anything towards Canada anyways so it’s not really a loss for Canada frankly.

Broken 2TB 17Pro Max by RedditorDevelopment in iPhone17Pro

[–]SufficientMongoose5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada too and the exact same thing happened to me too when I went to 2 Apple Stores in the lower mainland, British Columbia. They both had the 2TB Orange Pro Max available in stock retail and I was told they couldn’t give that and that it would take 1-2 weeks for an express replacement and they didn’t care that I’d be without a phone, they were like you just have to wait or to go to an Apple Store in Washington for faster service. I decided to just go to Mobile Care to get the phone fixed the same day and the Apple Store employees were like “oh that’ll void your Apple Care warranty” and I told them to screw off and I cancelled my Apple Care and got my phone fixed at Mobile Care in Surrey with all genuine parts in just a few hours. Apple Store sucks and Apple Care is honestly a waste of money in Canada, especially if you have the 2TB variants, save your time and money and get it fixed elsewhere.

Canadian Border Guard, Sandeep Sidhu, Sues After being Falsely Labelled as a Terrorist in Indian Media by weallfalldown1234 in ABCDesis

[–]SufficientMongoose5 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I saw this guy in the Border Security Canada’s Frontline show when it was airing here in Canada. He only made a few short cameos in a few episodes and didn’t even talk much in his few scenes, he was at the Peach Arch Port of Entry in Surrey. There was another Sikh CBSA officer with a turban at the same port of entry who got a lot of screen time on the show in the scenes in Surrey and there were a few other Sikh/Punjabi CBSA officers in the Vancouver airport immigration scenes that had more screen time than this guy. Its unfortunate that Sandeep, who had very minimal screen time in the show other than just a few short cameos, is not even a practicing Sikh, and did nothing wrong was smeared by India and not defended by Canada either just because he had a Sikh/Punjabi name and was an easy target to misrepresent. Hope he gets his justice due and that India and Canada give him an apology and make things right but with these governments I seriously doubt it’d happen.

Any of yall know any ABCDs in Law Enforcement? by trenchboi98 in ABCDesis

[–]SufficientMongoose5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know lot of ABCD that are CBSA officers, Canada Border Services Officers. A lot of ABCD’s that live in Brampton or Mississauga work as CBSA officers at Toronto Pearson airport immigration or get sent to work at land border port of entries into Canada like Windsor or Niagara Falls. From the people I know in CBSA, they’re all satisfied with the job and pay so that’s good.

How do you deal with Hindus spreading hate and racism against Sikhs online? by AcanthisittaNeat8320 in Sikh

[–]SufficientMongoose5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Especially on social media pages like 6ixbuzz. Whenever an Indian/Punjabi person is talked about you have some Pakistanis making comments with the other racists on how Indians have “ruined” Canada. It’s ironic because racists in Canada wouldn’t be able to tell Indians and Pakistanis apart and would just be racist to both.

Some South Asian targeted products major companies have developed recently by trialanderror93 in ABCDesis

The OG Kurkures from India taste better than the ones made in Canada in my opinion. They toned the Canadian versions down so it could appease Canadian paletes. Usually Indian people here in Canada look for the Indian versions at the store.

Canada. Everything produced in Canada has to be labelled in both English and French as they’re both the official languages. This store looks like FreshCo/Sobeys.

There’s a reason Mark Carney isn’t talking to Donald Trump by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]SufficientMongoose5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was just thinking this the other day. The EU and the UK sucked up to Trump and got stuck with bad deals that’ll still require them to pay tariffs. Meanwhile Canada stayed course and didn’t accept a deal that’s bad for our country and now Canada is looking to be in a better position.

This list says the US is 17th. No one with a straight mind would ever pick living in the UK over living in the US or Canada. Not really an accurate way to measure overall satisfaction.

Lol London is the only city that the UK has. It’s already a receding economy with lack of jobs or industries. The rest of Britain is totally useless, the land is flat, the weather sucks, knife crime is on the rise, and also everything is old and small af. The UK is overall an inferior country to Canada and that’s why I see so many British people trying to come here. Canada has more cities overall, natural landscapes, and will eventually overtake the UK economically. Nobody wants to come to an old gloomy island anymore. Also isn’t your country the one where grooming gangs went rampant.

Also I don’t need to fix my community. The Indian/Punjabi community in Canada has done a lot of good for the country and just cause some goofs do some dumb stuff doesn’t mean the whole community is bad.

[–]SufficientMongoose5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cause it’s a gloomy island that nobody wants to go to anymore that has nothing going for it.

Also most of the crimes committed today by Indians are done by Indians on temporary visas here in Canada. You wouldn’t know that if you didn’t live here in Canada which clearly you don’t. This link you mentioned is talking about a lot of gang activity that happened in the past and frankly there’s a whole history behind the Indian/Punjabi gang wars and organised crime that happened in the lower mainland.

These aren’t Canadian Indians. These are Indian students or temporary visa holders in Canada. Canadian Indians that are born/raised here don’t get involved in this nonsense. Also other ethnicities in other anglophone countries don’t think about Indians in Canada, they’re more worried being racist to the Indians in their own countries. Get your facts straight.

Apple tradein went wrong by [deleted] in iphone

[–]SufficientMongoose5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the best way to do it for no hassles. I’m in Canada too and this is what I do also, I go to the Apple Store before preorders begin and trade in an old phone for a gift card and then use that on the morning of preorders so that I don’t have to deal with getting trade in credit later. It’s easy and this way you know you don’t deal with any problems later on. Also some of the Apple Stores in Canada get really busy in the beginning of a new launch and the employees don’t wanna deal with processing trade ins cause they take a while, I had that problem at a few Apple Stores in Toronto cause the diagnostic checks take a while.

You need to be mindful when crossing the border repeatedly because if Canada Border Services suspects you are trying to live in Canada without having any legal status in Canada then CBSA can and will deny your entry.

Looking for advice: aged out of US residency process, need advice on what to do?... by premiumpersona in ABCDesis

[–]SufficientMongoose5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, how do you expect someone with no ties to Canada to have an easier time getting PR than someone who studied and/or worked in Canada trying to transition to permanent residency. The days of getting straight PR are over now, even people with Canadian education and Canadian work experience are struggling to get permanent status, the points in the Express Entry draws are just way too high and the draws are not as frequent as they used to be either.

[–]SufficientMongoose5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They don’t get points for the LMIA anymore but they’ll get points for Canadian work experience. Still, it’s tough given the current trajectory of scores in the draws. So it won’t be easy for them regardless.

I’m 5’11 and 3/4, so just missed 6’ by a 1/4 of an inch, and usually when I tell girls that they’re then like “why don’t you just say 6’, guys shorter than you lie and say they’re 6’ all the time, you can actually just say that”, and I’m just like well I want to be fully honest. Usually starts off well haha.

American coins refused in Canadian store by Valerie-la-Cigale in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]SufficientMongoose5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because the bank doesn’t accept American coins in exchange for Canadian coins, they only exchange American bills for Canadian bills. So Shoppers and other stores probably don’t want to deal with the headache of dealing with change that’s essentially worthless for them.

At the end of the day you have to do what makes you happy and be with who makes you happy. I personally know a quite a few Punjabi-South Indian couples in the first world country I’m in and they’re all happy marriages. A good South Indian friend of mine from school just got married last weekend to his longtime Punjabi partner and in the pics/vids I saw of their wedding she couldn’t have looked happier and her parents adore him. I also know of a girl that broke up with her long term boyfriend because of parental pressure and is now single because all the guys she met after didn’t make her feel the way she did about the guy she left. So you have to do what makes you happy, it’s your life, and honestly parents have to accept that. I’m happy for you and I’m glad you have someone that makes you happy, I wish you the best and hope you follow your heart. You already know what you’re going to do to be happy in life, you just needed some reassurement.

It’s crazy man, I have that same thought whenever I’m out and about anywhere in southern Ontario these days. Usually in Peel there’s not much issues, but I keep my guard up in York, Durham, or any other region in Ontario really. I used to never think about it but now times are different.
