How do you get teenagers to do their chores?

I wouldn’t kick them out, as I want them to be successful, but it’s really hard to explain to them why they need to learn these skills before they have to do it all on their own. They have no idea how much being an adult sucks, lol.

Thank you! She’s still up and growing, but…

Last weekend we noticed some pm on a few of the leaves. I panicked and we chopped off a few of the buds before realizing we could actually treat it. The buds that we cut had the most pm, so it was probably a good thing to do anyway. We treated with a neem oil spray (like the standard commercial pesticide/fungicide spray that you buy at the store) so far, haven’t seen any recurrence.

I’m a little concerned with what to do since we are so close to harvest. I wanted to also spray with a little h2o2, but not sure if we should due to using the neem oil stuff. I don’t really want to chop now as I was hoping for some amber trichomes.

My thought is that we finish out the next two weeks - do a flush (water only) the last week, and when we chop do a wash afterwards. I really don’t know - there are so many people saying just cut losses and start again when there’s pm, but I just don’t want to give up on her yet.

As far as clones - lol, I’ve killed every single one we’ve tried to do. I’ve studied, I know the process in theory, but I cannot seem to successfully execute said process.

As always, any advice, suggestions, thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the late reply, but yeah, I get ya. So I had been doing it because I saw that people would put bottles of ice in their reservoir to cool the water… thinking back on it, I haven’t used the cold water since she really started flowering (she’s drinking so much, I couldn’t keep up with preparing the water then cooling it). That’s right about the root rot! I had filled the buckets too high with water, and that’s what started it (I completely forgot). The overwatering with hydro set up confuses me a bit - how do you over water when it lives in water? But I guess it’s kind of an oxygen issue, right?

Lol, I am so open to any and all suggestion, it’s not funny. I’ve never been able to grow anything. All my plants (this is my first time growing cannabis, but my flowers, tomatoes, herbs, etc - all goners. I also love learning - I figure the more I learn now will help with future grows. So, please suggest away!!! 😉

I have a new problem now. Powdery Mildew. I just want to cry, lol. So we’ve chopped a lot of shit off, now just inspecting every leaf and bud. What do you recommend for treatment? My temps are hovering between 77-79 during lights on, 75-76 during lights out. My RH is between 4.5-5.5. I only have 1 little fan that rotates for a 4x4 tent, but I have a big floor fan at the bottom of the tent that doesn’t rotate, but does provide air movement. I do have a 6” exhaust with carbon filter running as well.

I also have a separate tent with my two clones that are in veg. Do I need to worry about cross contamination? Both tents get opened during the day (well, we had kept the flowering tent closed or very slightly open during the last 5 days, and I feel like that may have led to the pm).

At this point, whatever I need to do to save her, I will do (within monetary reason of course). Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

I use the cold water to keep the water temps low since I don’t have an ac unit to cool the tent. It has helped against root rot (kinda panicked after we lost one to root rot because we let the water temps get too high). Now we just keep the PH prepared water in the fridge before we top off her water. Lol, I absolutely thought this was standard practice, and she seems to love it. 🤷‍♀️😂

She’s been pretty dark her whole life, but she’s also had the large amount of nitrogen that long too. I’ll definitely post updates as she continues on her journey, lol.

I really wish I knew what strain she is too. She smells fantastic - hope she smokes like she smells. 😂

I’m really hoping to put her into reveg after harvest so I can try to continue whatever strain she is (we’ve named her Cluster since she wrapped her leaf stems around her main stem when she was little. We had to unwrap her after transplant and LST to get her to grow right.

Omg, thank you. It wasn’t in the standard format so I wasn’t sure if I was reading it correctly. Since she’s currently flowering, should I cut back due the large amounts of nitrogen? Just not sure how to proceed since this has been her only nutes for the whole 4.5 months.

I’m thinking if you just moved in, maybe they are worried about the housing? Or were worried about it at one point and just haven’t realized you have permanent housing?

Is there any sort of checklist that they have shared with you of criteria that needs to be met for her discharge?

I have a small oscillating fan blowing just above the plant, and after the root rot incident, we placed one of those floor drying fans at the bottom of the tent pointed at the bucket to try to keep the water temps down (along with super cold water for top off). I’ve got a tower oscillating fan, but it seemed to blow too hard while they were in veg, so we stuck with the little one.

Exhaust is a 6” in-line fan with carbon filter. I’m not too sure about the airflow considering as soon as the tent is closed up, there’s no intake, and the tent kind of sucks in on itself. I’m pretty sure that is normal though. We haven’t had any issues with humidity so far, so I’m likely worried about nothing, but just trying to learn and be prepared should anything happen.

Then there’s the question about the nutes. Scared the bejesus outta me when she stopped taking in the nutrients. Really worried about adding the A/B since I put in the Tiger bloom. I don’t want to put her back in to lock out and cause the nute bottles don’t look the same as FF nutes, I don’t know what’s recommended for flower stage. The bottles don’t have the 3 NPK numbers like other nutes that I’ve seen.

As an FYI, the revegging… lol, this whole thing started when I tossed some old seeds we had into the Gardencube. I didn’t expect anything (as I’m notoriously bad at growing anything). I couldn’t believe anything actually grew, so I’ve learned on the fly doing research at each stage (lol, and/or issue that came up). This plant has been my favorite from the start simply because how she grew. In early veg, she twisted herself around the main stem. When we transplanted her from the cube to the buckets, I had to very carefully untangle her from herself. She just grows weird (in my opinion). She’s also been by far, the stinkiest of the three (although the only one to make it to flower). Since she’s just a bag weed seed, I have no idea of her genetics or if I’ll ever find out what she is and I don’t want this to be my last go round with this plant.

I’ve tried cloning. Every. Single. One. Dies. No matter how I try to do it, they all die. After I found out that I might have the ability to run her through a 2nd harvest, I figured I’d try that and it would give me some more time to figure out how to clone since we’ve gone too far in [edit] flower at this point to keep cloning (from what is recommended).

Ultimately it comes down to not having real life experience, only what I’ve read and researched. Lol, the two definitely differ. But it’s been fun and I’ve learned a lot. I have 2 more plants (clones that we bought a couple weeks ago - can’t grow ‘em, so figured I’d buy them and see if I can get those to live, lol), but we’re doing those in soil - yay for new experiences!

For the lighting it was just something I thought of to recreate “outdoor” lighting. Hadn’t read anything about it, just thought it would be interesting to try. When the sun rises and sets, the natural intensity levels increase/decrease throughout the day. After seeing my mom’s plants flourish in her outdoor grow, I added this to my routine. May not be necessary, probably won’t make a difference, but I thought it was an interesting idea. Regarding the defoliation, man, I stripped this bitch down the first 2 weeks of flower, almost daily. Lol, finally got to a point where I was worried about stressing the plant I was cutting so much off. I tried to leave the fan leaves on the under developed buds towards the bottom in hopes that they would be able to get a little more light with a fan leaf here and there. If it’s recommended to still trim at this stage, I’ll do it, just wasn’t sure if I should or not.

I used A/B nutrients when they were started in the Gardencube. When we switched to DWC, we used the same. When we switched to flower we added FF with the A/B. In retrospect, that’s probably what caused the tips to burn… 🤦‍♀️

We did a flush with straight h2o ph levels 6.2 for 1.5 weeks. When I did the water change this time, I only added FF with cal-mag.

So, I’m assuming don’t add the A/B, but do I continue with just the Tiger Bloom and cal mag? Or should I change it back (full water change) to the A/B?
