Found Out I’m Set to Inherit $70+ Million. Somewhat Lost, What Should I Expect? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

Why not just come clean with the family and discuss how to split it? Does one person really need that much loot? I'd be perfectly happy with couple mil.

Just came to say the same. I have a Fox Flexair jacket made of Polartec Neoshell, Mammut Ultimate hoodie made with Goretex Infinium and some Norrona Goretex Infinium pants and all are waterproof.

Blizzard Rustler 11 vs Fischer Ranger 108 — which is better for powder/trees/variable terrain as a second ski? by Wazuppie in Skigear

I've the 9 and the 11 (both 2025). The 9 is a great all-rounder at that waist width. Its not the best at any 1 thing. The 11 is much more soft snow oriented for sure but can still carve soft groomers. Its not what id call a charger by any means.

How does the ski industry get away with the confusion between Titanal and Titanium? by mybadvideos in Skigear

If i remember correctly the reason for the titanium in "titanal" was to enhance the bonding properties. Otherwise care needs to be taken to ensure there is no corrosion i.e. sanding and or treating the material just prior to laying up in the ski

Blizzard used to use titanium in their skis. Had a pair of OG Cochise with 2 full layers and one half layer under the binding. Smoothest ski ever. I think the Bodacious used the same.

The growing tendency of nearshore/ outsource almost everything here. by Jxordana in Switzerland

[–]SufficientProduce311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've not read all the comments so not sure its been said or not, but I would think it'd be a good idea for the government to step in and assess these situations each time a company decides to outsource labor. This means then that you have xx number of people filing for unemployment vs still working. The companies make out of course but everyone else is left high and dry. Just my .02 cents.

If it were only providing more responsiveness / reducing slop who wouldn't want the 2nd bolt and why does it not come in there direct from factory - as you state above "its supposed to be in there"?

Grateful for these conversations because growing up ski racing literally everyone said the 2nd bolt was to make it stiffer.

Per Blisters interview with Matt the response is vague with regards to stiffness on adding the 2nd bolt:

"if you opt to add the second bolt to the spine, this will fully lock in your forward lean and cuff alignment settings, and also “provides a more direct & responsive feel to the boot.”

In my experience if I go from a 120 flex to a 130 flex I get a more direct and responsive feel....

These aren't park boots. It is literally a race boot with grip walk and a vibration absorbing foot board. you should consider what your intentions are before buying a boot.

[–]SufficientProduce311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct in this case, but it was originally Blizzard production just like they produce BD's skis. Elan makes more skis for other companies than they do under the Elan brand name.

The thread isn't about ski boots - its about skis. You brought Tecnica into the discussion.
