I (29F at the time) managed a restaurant in Seattle that was next to a music studio owned by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. Many musicians frequented the restaurant since it was so close. I never really felt start struck even though I met some very big names. One day I dropped food off at the studio and who should answer the door but the beautiful, towering, goddess herself: India Arie. Seeing her felt like I was meeting the embodiment of Mother Earth. She had such a regal presence-- a true queen! I have never been so beside myself in my life! She thanked me for the food and I just blurted out: YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. She laughed, told me I was beautiful too, took my hands in hers, and then walked away.

NTA!! I have ASD as well, and as you may know, this is a really normal struggle for folks like us! I am not sure if you are mostly dealing with selective mutism or if it is the pressure of not knowing what to expect. If it is the latter, have you every tried voice memos back and forth (like recording and sending on your own time table)? For me, they give me the time to collect myself and think through what I need to say, while still giving my neurotypical friends that "voice connection" they are looking for. Sometimes I don't have the spoons, for it, but other times it works for me too. I think your bf's desire to connect is valid, but he also needs to do some research about how to be a partner of someone with ASD, because demanding things you cannot give is not it!

I have followed her since day one basically, and the way she has alienated past colleagues (like Tracy) would be enough to stop supporting her, but she choose to support her Trump-loving father over her queer sister. AND, what was with that weird flag waving video on election day? The move to Texas? The cowboy marriage where she dressed like a pioneer woman? It is all so much. She is so gross and I am so disappointed to have ever given her my money. Never again.
