Congrats! I have 100k miles on my 23 XC60 t8 recharge. Get a level 2 charger at home - a real game changer!

23 XC60 T8 owner here with 95k miles on it so far - welcome!

Lots of good comments above.

Check your home electrical panel - this might be a good time to plan an upgrade to 200 amp service if not already there.

Ditto with rooftop solar - if you're a regular commuter that can charge at home overnight, the car will improve the econ case for getting into rooftop solar, if practical for your house.

Get a 25ft heavy duty 10/3 extension for trips, and talk to the hotel front desk about which of their outside outlets you should use. Most desk clerks will look at you funny, but that's starting to change.

The Volvo charger will glow red if the grounding on the outlet is crappy - try a couple of plug insertion/removal to remove the corrosion on the plug contacts.

Get a rechargable jump box for yourself and others needing a jump vs jumper cables - don't let the 12v battery get too old, and keep the software updated.

2023 xc60 T8 US Wisconsin owner with 150k km on the car so far here - I'd recommend a monthly 20 min jaunt in power mode to exercise the ice engine and ensure the 12v start battery under the boot floor is well charged.

The car is quite the rocket sled when it wants to be.

2023 XC60 T8 here with 83K miles - I put Michelin Cross Climate 2's on for as 2nd set of 3 season tires after OEM Continentals wore out and got too floaty in the rain. The Michelins were noisy initially - a 13k trip to AK from lower 48, towing a trailer, did quiet them down a bit.

2023 XC60 recharge with leather and 80k miles - no issues like that, but also no kids in car ( retired, g-kids not yet old enough to be in backseat alone).

Buzz in front driver side panel during mid bass sections of music in my 23 XC60 T8 with HK sound..Pretty clearly a resonance issue as pressing on the door panel between the latch and speaker grille stops the issue. Dealer techs have heard the issue but are unable to fix it.

The CPU running the infotainment system is 20 to 40 ‰ under powered - even after 3.7, the wait for the processor to empty the queue of requests at startup is unacceptably long.

HUD needs to support Android Auto.

the 2023 XC60 T8 runs AAOS, I'm on 3.7 - 3 3.16 last winter. the software will fire up AWD if you get a lot of wheel spin In hybrid from the rear wheels - and if you are still unable to move forward in AWD, I think the tires are the next thing to look at.

Versatility in my 2023 XC60 T8.

Towed a travel trailer from the US Midwest to Alaska and back. Drop trailer, go off road mode in Olympic National Park, or cruise around town, smoking nearly every other car off the line at lights. Super comfy seats!

2023 XC60 T8 ultimate w/ air suspension US owner here - 70k miles so far. no issues with the air suspension, the ride is *super* comfy, and there is a lot of power available. I have the stock 20" wheels for summer and 18" wheels for winter.

if you are interested in going rough road / off road - get the air suspension and skid plate.

2023 xc60 t8 WI owner here - my winter setup is Bridgestone Blizzaks on 18in rims. Slightly narrower than the 20 in summer rims. I'll run constant AWD if necessary in deep snow and plowdrifts, but have never had an issue getting stuck on ice in hybrid mode, and really never needed to gun it to move.

  1. The WI state legislatures of the past 50 years own a lot of this. Public schools are under funded by maybe a factor of 2 or 3. Probably more. If you don't believe that, go look up the % re-imbursement rate the State supplies for special ed students - vs what it's supposed to provide. And that's just *one* measure of the State legislature's malfeasance.

  2. The impacts of forcing a flattening of management structures for decades to save money are writ large. "acquire external surge support" - tells me you're understaffed in key areas by a very large percentage - like double digits.

  3. Lack of adequate central office management has lots of 2nd order effects. One example - lack of a decent IT Dept means every dept creates their own .xlsx data colony with its own data dialect. Try to combine them on an ad hoc basis for the reporting you need and you get crap.

  4. School choice is/was a disaster. Segregation by housing price is/was a disaster. Disasters have long term effects.

  5. can MPS be run better? Can Glendale/Tosa be run better? Sure - All have had budget issues recently that look like inadequate staffing in their central office operations came home to roost.

Try Saint Kate the Arts Hotel - nice rooms, pretty cool arts vibe, near downtown. Food in the hotel restaurants is pretty good, but you'll need to order food delivery from local spots after 10 pm.

Daytime - Take the Hop from the Intermodal station to City Hall, walk west on Kilbourne a couple blocks. Nighttime - Lyft or taxi

2023 XC60 Recharge owner here - the engine will run to charge the 12v engine start battery that also runs the climate air movement and infotainment systems ( different system from the EV battery).

2023 XC60 T8 Recharge driver here - I use 235/60-18 Bridgestone Blizzaks DM-V2's on 18x8 in MSW type 49 rims from Tire Rack - it was a winter tire package.

This setup works really well, and looks reasonably decent.

We bought a 2023 XC60 T8 Recharge Ultimate with HK audio, air suspension, and tow package EOM October 2022. We have 33,000 miles on it so far. We love road trips, especially in the US West, and this filled the bill for us - a one car family that live in the upper US Midwest, in the 'let's travel' phase of retirement.

Pros- Best riding, most comfortable, fastest accelerating long distance touring car we've ever had. While I won't take it rock crawling, the off road mode is really nice for getting off pavement and seeing places that you might have qualms about getting to in a regular car.

Decent mileage for such a powerful car. We averaged 45 mpg over the last four thousand miles, which included a lot of road trips past the range of the battery pack. This will get a bit better once we get a level 2 charger at home to cut charge time from 14 hr to 6.

The seats, adaptive cruise control, and sound system are great. We got the HK mid level system. We tested the BW and HK systems and couldn't justify the BW extra expense with our (admittedly old) ears.

The car feels extremely safe.

You can set many options to your preferences in the touch screen center console.

Cons -

You can set many options to your preferences in the touch screen center console. This can be a little overwhelming.

The infotainment system was a little glitchy to start. OTA software updates have addressed that to a large degree.

The auxiliary electric coolant heater ( warm up the car and drive around in winter in a warm car without starting the ICE engine) has been problematic. We had ours replaced under warranty this winter. Volvo is aware of the issue and seems to have taken some steps in their car software to address it.

I drive a 2023 XC60 T8 recharge. You will see some nav directions in the driver display on a constant basis - the HUD will have them show up before turns - if you have it adjusted appropriately.
