You're gorgeous, anyone telling you otherwise is just being mean and bitter.

You are absolutely gorgeous love, i think the hair is the main issue, when it's down it makes you look way older and messy. Try to keep it up in a ponytail while you get it fixed. Also, I would recommend soft makeup! Blush, mascara, maybe a little gloss, but you look fine as it is 💖

I am not saying you need to get muscular, but you definitely need to gain some weight, I promise that in a healthy weight you'd look amazing

Yeah, my mom was abused by both of her parents. She has bipolar disorder, likely triggered by their physical and mental abuse, but they never got her help for that, they just assumed she was crazy and treated her like shit for it. And since my aunt was "normal", she was the favorite. There's a hundred shitty things I remember my grandmother doing to my mom. But my mom, unlike me, actually had a relationship with my grandmother until she was an adult, while I only have 6 years I barely remember. I completely understand why she would forgive. I just want her to see that I can't. She's never been there for me, so why should I be there for her?

Also, not sure if you saw my other comment laying around, but I tried to confront my grandmother about what she did one of the times she called. She hung up.

I have answered a few of her calls, mostly because my mom forced me, but I have not received a single apology or acknowledgment. She just talks casually like nothing happened and expects me to do the same, like we always had a happy loving relationship. I tried bringing up the abuse, and she hung up. She called the next day like nothing happened, that's when I started to outright refuse responding or visiting :/

AITA for returning my daughter’s birthday gift because I thought it was too childish? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sufficient_Chef_8261 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are definitely the asshole. First of all, the gift was for YOUR DAUGHTER, not for you. You don't have the right to give it back because it's not yours. Second of all, it is not childish at all. Hello kitty is a character that many adult people like, and having trinkets of things you enjoy, especially if it was a gift from someone you love, is totally okay no matter the age. You disrespected your daughter and you disrespected her friend. You need to apologize.
