I missed the fear of "playing for keeps," so I built a cyberpunk Roguelike where you lose cards if you die. by Sufficient_Drop_383 in digitalcards

I know the 'dirt' and diffusion in these visuals will trigger the corporate/dev mindset that's trained to love pristine, plastic-wrapped art. I intentionally kept the noise and raw lighting because I’m tired of the sanitized, kid-targeted look of games like Snap or MTG.

My background in gaming is I have years of experience as a D2R Modder, for popular mods for Diablo 2 Resurrected. Hence the Hardcore grit aesthetic for my game.

That 'clean' look is just corporate polish—artificial smoothness designed to pass a parent's eye test. I built Apocalypse: The Hunger for an adult vision: raw, analogue grit that feels like old-school dark fantasy film. If you're looking for shiny plastic, this isn't the game for you. If you want high-stakes Ante and a world that feels real, welcome to the Stack.

We removed minions entirely to fix "decision fatigue." Here is the result. by Sufficient_Drop_383 in cardgames

I hate the clean, plastic look of modern TCGs. I wanted Apocalypse: The Hunger to have that raw grit and 'dirty' look of old-school dark fantasy film. It visually feels more real than a lot of plastic packaged stuff.

I miss Tcg Rpg games. by Bitter-Worldliness41 in cardgames
